Hi there,

I'm currently building a 200tdi which came to me in about five boxes of bits with the block. The rebuild has gone smoothly so far but I've gone to fit the injector pump and planned to set the timing myself with a gauge, but I can't actually get the pump to turn over by hand (more than about a quarter turn).

It was my understanding that a sound injection pump should turn over easily by hand while sorting out the timing, does it being hard to turn indicate it may be seized? Or is there anything I might be missing that's stopping me from turning it?

Thanks!

No I think they are spring loaded so not really free an easy to turn.
In fact if it doesn't turn at all maybe the locking tab has been removed and it's locked in position.
