Hi all
Been happily driving my freelander for the past year or so but this last week I saw a nice Disco 3 tdv6 2.7 auto in a local garage on an 07 plate.
Went and had a closer look today and took it for a spin and fell in love with it but my only query was when we set off from the garage and drove upto a roundabout I came to a standstill whilst waiting to pull out, when a gap appeared I pushed the accelerator and just got a load of revs then I put into neutral and back to drive it drove off.
So a few miles down the road we pulled up and it did it again. This time I applied a little pressure on the selector and it engaged.
On returning to the garage I told the owner and he said it had happend to him when he drove it and told us there was probably something down inside the selector jamming it (sweet wrapper ) and when the car was valeted he would sort this out.
I have searched the forum and looked if this is a known problem but didn't find any threads so it could be true what the owner said and is a simple fix.
What's your thoughts.
Would you buy or leave it.
Is it an electrical switch mechanism and cheap to sort or major.
Thanks guys and look forward to your opinions.
Apart from that its a lovely motor and fully loaded with boys toys.
