Well chaps, I have found an sd card, and after formatting it I have just recorded live data for the first time ever... speaking with storm tuning I hope I am able to get it mapped today exciting!!!
Well then guys... this morning Dan at storm tuning sent me my remap file, using my nanocom it uploaded in about 5 mins... I haven’t touched the turbo yet but Jesus Christ after driving a few miles for my engine to warm up I gave it beans and dear dear I have driven many td5s ( some tunes) and I can honestly say after my remap it Just pulls and pulls and pulls... (with very little smoke) it’s incredible!
Ok I’ll do a video... my landy sounds so nice now after the map... still got to adjust the turbo slightly though... I have 265 75 16 BFG all terrains and the gearbox is standard...You’ll have to do a video! Storm have good reviews. Are you on standard tyres/gearbox etc?

No EGT gauge on mine that’s a job for the near future do you have one on yours? I watched the coolant temp on nanocom and it stayed at 92 degrees (flat out up hill) the same as when standerdDo you have an EGT gauge? Would be interesting to see what it gets up to

I didn’t look at that to be fair Neilly but I’ll let you knowQuite a difference in tyre size , what was the manifold air pressure like ?
Cheers
Looks pretty good in all fairness, have you ever seen it get mega hot?Yes I got a modified egr blanking plate off eBay and and a cheapish digital egt gauge https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/311988086342 Seems to work ok. I couldn’t find anywhere to put it so superglued it to the dash!

I won’t say how much but I can tell you it’s near to what the rest of them charge

Wow that’s extremely hot no wonder you here horror stories from time to time... I still need to shorten the turbo actuator arm , Dan at storm tuning said a few turns should do it so I’ll give that a go tomorrow... not sure wether or not to set injector clearances just to be on the safe side? Definitely will look into the egt temp gauge though what’s the safe limit? No the most I’ve seen is 600 degrees but from posts on here they can get very near 1000 degrees without knowing about it.
Of equal concern is the coolant temp people have seen 110 yet because the standard gauge does not report this you carry on as normal. I’ll soon be fitting a gauge that gives a true reading
Too be fair there would be no loss as you could always sell one?I’m tempted to send them one of my ecus to see how they compare to the Dynachip one I’ve got at the moment.

It has transformed mine, revs so cleanly now and pulls like a train but I haven’t touched the turbo yet
He said to adjust the turbo on the nanocom to between 1.3 to 1.35 so I’ll probably stick it somewhere between that... at the moment it’s only hitting 1.29I’ve got several ecus floating about just in case! Lots of good reviews on storm and the fact you’ve driven chipped td5’s and still impressed is a good sign.
When you adjust the wastegate rod make sure that when it’s hitting it’s max (235/240ish on inputs fuelling) it’s up hill and properly under load. Dynachip did mine and for various reasons I’ve not used it much since but recently had to lengthen it a bit as it was overboosting up hills.
