Yeah so have I on lrtvOr it might have been a nut welded to the strap .......
box spanners are perfect for the double nuts, a socket is more ideal for td5 single nutI get the torque on the lock nut is simply to seat it but I just don't see the point in these box wrenches. **** knows why I bought it. Oh well it has other uses lol
either worksOr it might have been a nut welded to the strap .......

yes, but its not difficult to feel when adjusting nut till free play is just removed after first nipping up the nut then backing off, then tightening the second nut tight before locking tab washer over bothBut I'm guessing you feel when bearings seated by experience? I don't have that experience so have to go by book to rule out user error

the book used to leave some free play which is not what you want
I wonder why? Maybe it had something to do with the thermal expansion characteristics of the assembly?yes, but its not difficult to feel when adjusting nut till free play is just removed after first nipping up the nut then backing off, then tightening the second nut tight before locking tab washer over both

nuts are the same, as long as outer races are fully seated just nipping the bearing first is enough no exact torque is needed, thrust washers are fine to use again i usually do theres the early slot type and later d typeMy only worry was bearing seating to be honest. I know if I hit 60 I have seated them right. Am I correct in saying adjuster nut and locking nut are identical? The thrust washer that came doesn't even fit either which was annoying. Old one was still fine but like using new bits as all else is new!
i dont know why as there is little and mot man doesnt like anyI wonder why? Maybe it had something to do with the thermal expansion characteristics of the assembly?
thats OK then. Pity LR didnt know that.i dont know why as there is little and mot man doesnt like any
