When I saw your stumpy exhaust the other day, I thought it looked a little familiar! Although I doubt you've even been near mine let alone seen it!

Yours is a credit to you though bud, wish I had the time and inclination to build something like it, although running a v8 on the use my 200 would get would cripple me!
Best get some muddy shots up soon then?

Ello noisy. Quick question to run by u mate. I've got a 4" lift on mine with the 6degree cranked arms but the high lift is putting too much strain on uj's an output shaft bearings etc so I wanted to drop it an inch or two but obviously don't want to fork out for the 3degree cranked arms. Would it still be alright with the 6degree with a 2 or 3" lift?? Cheers mate.

Kin ell dude, uncanny likeness!! :D :D

great minds think alike

im very lucky to be in a situation where i dont have to use this, i dont have another car actually, just borrow the tdi disco from the garage occasionally, i walk to work cos i live pretty close so thats handy too.

aint nobody able to afford to run a v8 daily, its just ridiculous like RIDICULOUS how much they can sup.

cheers :)

hi pal

first thing, have you measured how much the car has actually raised?

for instance, mine has a 3" kit fitted but theres SO much weight in it i think its nearer 2"

i say that because 2" of lift is pretty good for a disco but until you have decided how much actual lift you have its not easy to decide what to do.

if you leave the 6 degree arms on there you will have really really good self centering steering thats for sure!

however, you will be pulling the diff nose downwards so it will be closer to parallel with the transfer output, this is no bad thing if you are mildly lifted, in fact its better for the prop essentially

you know youve got your lift/caster (at rest height i mean) combo right when the spring seats on the chassis are parallel with the seats on the axle case

check it out now, then take some lift out and see if it goes too far the other way or not.

let me know

cheers :)

Ok. Cheers guys. It's got 2" on springs an 2" spacers. Was just thinking of replacing spacers with 1" because to be honey the spring doesn't sit completely flat in seat the front is raised which would mean the axel still isn't sitting flat even with 6 degree castors so an inch drop might sit better.

Just trial and error mate

As I say if springs are parallel at least you know axle position is correct for that height

Drop to 3" and see how it goes

Tbh pal general rule the lowest you can get away with is better

Cheers :)

The only issue I had with mine is one of my testers is a midget, he couldn't get the smoke meter head onto the exhaust so I had to get it on, no other issues with it though.

I was probably going to not take the **** and fit the full system for the test tbh, after all he short pipe is only for as and when required, like, not MOTs! :p

Yeah fair do's  the roar in that vid is awesome though!!! Looking at the mot regs last night I don't think stopping it under the car is an issue it would be the noise I think :D ....... if it sounds like the vid it will be so sweet.... makes me want a V8 till it hurts... :) Dr Evil keeps trying to sell me his....

The video is not even close to the full music pal, phone can't capture the bass or the crackle properly.

The noise is the problem, construction and use violation 101! :D

Still think its proper gucci ... :D I'd pass it...

Not an MOT'er or anything but I would pass it :D I think it should be open to a vote from an independent panel of Land Rover owners...... (Not Freelander).... Not and MOT station. :)

Hedman headers, custom made system from JP Exhausts in Macclesfield, made the stubby pipe myself from bits bought on eBay :)

That's all I'm after the stubby. Ill use original front section in stainless and make a little middle section up with a cherry bomb in with tht stubby on end. That's the plan anyway.
