haha hang onto them chrome swivels like your life depends on it, one day, it might!

Yup, ill be hanging on to them.

Currently my weighing in pile consists of 5 radius arms, 3 trailing arms, a panhard rod, 2 RRC anti roll bars and an axle tube.

Im keeping the 10 spline shafts and hubs.

Just finished reading your entire thread from start to finish. Top looking Disco you got there. I just got my first disco about a month ago and will be starting a build shortly. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to take quite a few ideas from your thread. You guys seem to modify your discos a fair bit more than they do here in Aus

Hey dude, thanks for stopping in :)

Wow, that must have taken some time to read!

Guess the UK market has many mods available for LR though...

You're welcome to my ideas, enjoy your Disco!

Mr Noisy ... ****sorrfffff .....

Nice one mate, 'preferred customer' status .. ;)

Just had a read through the thread Sam! Skipped past a lot of the writing just to look at the pics but all looks/sounds very nice! Your lt230 is very nice indeed! Just bolted mine to my gearbox today! Got a bit of chassis welding to do before fitting the engine and box! Keep up the good work :)

Nice one mate, well done for getting it sorted!

Your a brave man to start reading through this thread!

Basically

Strip interior components out from the corner you are working on, so seat, trim, everything

Work around removing all 10mm screws and all self tappers, including 3 under plastic trim on b pillar and screws down tailgate aperture

Then starting at the b pillar, pull cut pry the panel off against the sealant, the seam sealer at the top under the gutter needs cutting with a Stanley knife first, and gradually you can yank/work it off, then unhook around the rear corner.

Plenty of effort required but maximum an hour per side really, think my first ever took 2 hours actually.

cheers :D

it was all the other screws and fasteners I was after, was aware of the tailgate aperture fasteners and the sealant.

Ok sweet

Tbh it's pretty self explanatory really

Apart from the b pillar thing which is 3x 7mm nuts from the inside then rivets or screws from the outside depending on year :)

^^^ well yeah, but it still drives as it is so it's not too bad, it's not technically immobilised.

Need to get out of bed and get cracking, need to be on it by 10 really.

Wooooooooow, I've have been reading through this thread for ages(it's so long). Sam, amazing disco very inspiring, I would love a v8 disco for off road but funds do not allow, so I'll have to just fiddle with my disco td5, but not for off road it's to nice for that(and expensive, to buy at least)

dont forget the 2 small srews where windows are going into roof either, i missed the little buggers..

but i agree with sam about an hour :D

Air lockers IMO the best option is Ashcroft.

You will be lucky to find any second hand cos most folk are fitting and keeping them for the minute, you may find some ARB going second hand but if buying new go for Ashcroft.

Speak to Megasquirt-v8.co.uk for prices etc if interested in building them into cases at any spec.

Cranked arms, I run QT myself, the famous original.

More people are on the game now and Adrenalin4x4 on eBay are selling some good looking gear, though I don't know what their arms are weighing in at, an important consideration.

Thanks for taking the time to read, with enough time and money all the work I have done is possible for anyone, so you best get started :p
