Cheers guys, looks like my next job is sorted then! I'm considering attempting changing some body panels too like the floor and the headlight bits but I've never welded before. Do you think it would be a good place to learn or just a stupid idea? I'm very hands on (Plumber) and pick things up quickly.

If you're capable then mig welding is easy. Soldering has the same kind of skills (managing the molten weld pool etc) so you'll pick it up.

I learnt in about 3 hours. Ok I'm no pro but the car is sorted!

might b worth looking on youtube for sum guides, few tips.. allways make sure the bare metal is showing, so have it as clean as possible or it will not weld well, and i weld in a sorta triagle movement, but there's plenty of other ways that work well.

Hi ian, urm no not got any further on that!

I fitted the washer fluid heat exchanger, but it's not been cold enough to test that, and I unblocked/adjusted my OEM jets which is a 100% improvement, so I kinda put that idea to bed!

So whats the next project you're working on. I know you there is always something in the back of your mind :)

Tee hee, no! :D

As it stands, I've got a pair of bucket seats rolling around the workshop at the minute, they need GRP repairs and a bit of a stitch up on the covers, then I am looking at trying them.

Tell the truth I'm a bit 50/50 about the idea, the standard seats do seem to do the job well, no bad back on long runs, and they are easy for in/out.

Either way buckets need repairing then fit or sell.

I'm working on finding the correct wires to speed the tickover up when I turn the winch on. One handy feature of electronic engine control :)

Also am looking to improve lighting all round the vehicle, work lights, beacons and do something with the Sherpa Candlesticks.

Need to take the dash out as part of that job though so that's being out off a bit.

Also the engine rebuild is looming, probably march/April time.

And that'll do.

Just had some engine repairs to do recently so that's been occupying my brain, at the same time as work and part time DJ stuff.

Cheers! :)
