Yeah it is a satnav.

It's kinda going spare now that I have an iPhone so it lives in the disco, hardwired with a gps antenna on the roof (I have a heated screen so the iPhone doesn't pick up so great through it)

Anyway, the satnav is there for navigation turn by turn, the laptop is there now for the passenger/codriver/navigator to read the OS maps, the satnav is there for the driver for turn by turn navigation on roads etc.

As above, I'm a sucker for gadgets so I tend to load as much electrickery in there as possible.

Seems to be working ok so far :D

As long as the re-entry goes ok, you'll have nothin to worry about mate

Looking good...I might almost have to confess to being a closet disco fan...

one day;)

knew were a closet somthin joe, never though of a closet disco fan though....:D

Hey joe, discos are alright, rangeys are alright, I think sometimes its just what you end up with.

I love the look of both tbh, I can't decide what my fave is.

Underneath they're identical so it doesn't really matter!! :D

I had it folded up at my local metal fab shop, it's a piece of 2mm ally otherwise.

I removed the Jesus handle and bolted it down to it's mounts, so it is quite removeable for times when it's not necessary or the Jesus handle is necessary!

Tbh its laptop laning and Jesus handle for PNP...

I use memory map and it's the dogs bullucks.. thanks for the pic of the laptop mount Sam you've just sorted out where I'm gonna mount mine. :D Made it ages ago just couldn't figure out the best place to put it.

Hey I've not tested it yet joe, it might be ****/lethal, but yeah it's the best place I could think of :)

Mines a netbook so a lot smaller than yours. and it's a piece of ally (school door kickplate) bonded to some Thick foam rubber which is in turn bonded to a spring loaded PC mount bit like a giant mobile phone mount :)

Dell c640, factory internals, xp pro, memory map, globalsat sirfIII USB gps receiver, 12v to 20v power adapter (instead of inverter and laptop step down supply)

Cheers :)

memory map is available off their own website, depends on how much maps you want to buy or how nice your friends are.

i dont have any mates like that so i had to buy midlands, north england and wales, including software was £80.

the gps receiver was about 30 iirc, ebay.
