Manky innards but smilin' still
Events Planner
Hi guys

As the title says looking for an old caravan. ..its not going to be used as a tourer....in fact plan is to site it on the drive ...rip out the inards , some how decorate it with posters, throw in an old sofa and make a place for the kids to hang with their friends.

So it doesnt matter about anything working..electics , gas , toilet etc...as I'll throw an electric hook up from the house to rin a tv, power a table lamp, oil filled radiator ....etc

Doesn't matter about damp..as long as water doesn't pour though the roof.

Need to be able to get it to the midlands so needs to be ok enough to tow once.

When I say cheap....im talking mega cheap, im talking almost give away prices. ..looking for a tatty van that someone just thinks noone would ever want that

EBay is your friend. I saw a usable, albeit dirty and in need of renovation, caravan go on there for 86 quid.

Plus if you ask someone real nice they could carve you a nice wooden sign that says Love Shack for above the door ;)

You bugger....might skip the idea of the sofas and put in upright kitchen seats instead for the kids to sit on....love shak ....my arse !!

Thought about ebay but thought id try on here first as itd be easier to arrange collection etc etc

Wellll just sayin. When I was young I used to see a girl who's mam had an old caravan in the garden. I don't think I need to say anymore :p

You can have mine if ya want it. Gotta replace it within the next couple of weeks. Just needs towing away. It's got damp and the floors gone spongy. But there's no internal leaks. & everything works except the gas fire.

It towed fine from Yeovil to Glos about 3months ago. so towing to yours should be fine.

Will save me a trip to the scrapyard

Doh! Such a shame, I gave one away 3 weeks ago! Immaculate inside but had damp at the front... I live on a boat and the caravan was taking up too much room on my mothers drive. It would have been yours for a slice of cake!

Oh thats brill joe...Thank you so much..:) Don't mind paying something for it ...it must be worth something even as scrap..isn't it ?

you can give me some advice on how to rip out the innards without ripping a hole in the wall .....as I litteraly want a shell inside

Will smile at a couple of the guys up here to see if thed come tow it for me...bloody took my tow bar off mine didnt I
..doh

Will PM you when I can find someone who can help..Thanks again.

Loo bit can be removed. & shower sink etc. Mine has sofas at each end that convert to beds. and a room divider. ya can take the dividing doors off. prob best to leave the toilet walls up though as thats the main strength in a caravan. sink/cooker/fridge unit could come out as long as ya replaced it with a sheet of thick ply to cover all the vents up and add some strength back into the wall.

If you knew an electrical type person with access to a lot of Unistrut. you could use that to brace anything that you wanted to remove

Hmmmm...if only I knew an electrical type bod...shame eh ;)

That might be the same electrical bod im trying to help me tow. Has a tow bar but no electrics ...so we'll see.

Another daft question...if you paint the outside ..what paint would you use ?

Yep they act as bracing against the outer walls and roof to keep it all square and rigid

I wouldnt of thought it would be too much of a prob just removing them all as not like going to be towed anywhere so does not need too much structural strength.

Well got the towing bit sorted ...thanks to funkykipper :)

So am very excited now.:D

So can you paint the outside of caravans ? What kind of paint do you use ?

You might want to re do it and use it for your mobile sex therapy office/business you were talking about

for a minute there sam,i thought you were going to open a mobile BJ shop.:p:D:D

Its going to be a cool kids den when weve finished with it. Kids are discussing what colour to paint the outside..current plans are camo design, pink, grey or navy blue.
