I’m sure there is some one close to you @Redditch who may want the parts you don’t need. They may also be able to help you with a lot of knowledge during the build

dont think of it as scrapping more repurposing even if i use the engine and box in my iveco i will still shorten the chassis up and make it into some thing fun, and besides the chevy engine and box are nudging ahead slightly for packaging reasons, just waiting for a box of goodies to arrive from the states, the P38 is rather growing on me its quite nice to drive wish it was still on air though

Looks much too good to scrap, I'd love to get my hands on that interior.
if i do dismantle it you can have first dibs on the interior as long as you fetch it, they dont seem to fetch much on ebay so its foc apart from your fuel which wont be insignificant lol

I bet you will find most of the EAS system is still there.

I can see some of it in your last pic. What’s in the box 🤔 (last pic bottom right?)

J
the valves and pipes are still in that box but the compressor is missing, i will get some pics on thursday

one thing i havent worked out yet , when i put it into low range the display says "select neutral" even though im driving about in low it selects all the gears whys it saying select neutral ?

just out of curiosity how much similarity do you think there is between a disco 2 door and a p38 door shape wise ?

doable ?

well i found half a day to fiddle with the p38 today treated it to a new battery and a jet wash, engine came up like a new pin, the new battery seems to have caused the becm to wake up from its deep sleep having not run for nearly 2 years, last week it wouldent talk to me no error messages which i was told means the error message system is broke lol, anyway it wont shut up now displaying messages along the lines of window system not set door open bonnet open sunroof not closed, select neutral tailgate not set. tie your shoe laces etc etc anyway as i wont be using the doors of this p38 i needed to make sure it wouldent keep telling me the doors were open, as i couldent see a courtesy light switch on the A post or B post i guess the latch must have a contact in it signaling when its shut or open, so i just unplugged the door loom and bingo it couldent see if the door was open or closed and no error messages, just got to work my way through a dozen other things to see if they can just be disconnected
with out the bingy thing binging at me

It should be in neutral before you select low (or high) to allow the ratio motor to move it over. I'm guessing there's a switch for that on the gearstick and it is either unplugged, not working or soneone has been tinkering. Need to check RAVE and see how it works.
