That engine looks quite good in that engine bay, fit wise, looks like it should be there

The black looks good too ;) new starter has arrived and my brake lines have too.....

There is a lot of snow/slush outside though so I'm gonna get some food, coffee and then don the big waterproofs! Wildfowling gear is going to have to go on so I can work outside

Not really done much today.......fitted the brake lines to the chassis using a lot of cable ties  and made a start on the alternator mount

I did also get the slam panel back on and it looks a bit better now :D

I would but the super bowl is on and I has no extra metal to weld :p need to pick some up tomorrow to make my tub mounts

But the to do list has been seriously reduced!

super bowl, load of crap.cut summat up then to make summat else.easy.:p:D

I need some imperial bolts to make some mounts for the tub up, don't have anything the right size at home not even in metric so I is screwed on that front!

Also need to wait til I can lay my hands on a small torque wrench so I can get the clutch on as my 1/2" one starts 15ft/lb too high for the torque setting on it

surely you can tighten a few clutch bolts without a torque wrench

3/8th would be ideal, need one that goes down to 35ft/lbs as thats clutch cover torque and my big Britool one starts at 50!

I can tighten them up and nip them up to fit the gearbox in yeah, but ideally want to get them torqued up to spec

I've only got a half bell housing on so I can nip them up then torque after as theres nothing on the bottom half to obstruct but I'd rather do it all in one go

hmm its just a bolt that needs to be as tight as a bolt that size needs to be ,dont you know what that feels like

i had it as a kid as most did then, bolts havent changed just peoples belief that its got more complicated

me too,i started on mechanicals very young.my brother and his mechanic mate took me under his wing,so to speak.very rewarding it was too.
