Right quick update from today.....

Got the rear lights wired up for a start and picked up the drilled steel I need

So here we go :)

Using 12x12x2mm angle iron and some 17mm pipe I started to make up my rad mount for the rear tub, simple enough the pipe goes over the mounting studs and the angle iron is then welded on top of that which creates the top and bottom of the frame.

Tomorrow once I grind back the welds so they're all smooth I'll weld on some flat bar to link the pieces together along with some plate to the bottom rail and a brace to strengthen it plus some bolts to the base in order to fix it into the tub.
The bolts will then have a rubber shock bush put under them before I bolt it in to help with vibrations.

Moving onwards to the box adaptor I had these drilled for me as I was too lazy basically.......

The pipes fit together nice and snug with a blow from a mallet, the way I have done this is to centralise the pipe in the shaft holes. The larger plate is the one for the gearbox and the smaller one is the rear PTO cover on the LT230 which means that when put together the shaft line will be perfectly straight!

I have also got a plate for the front end of the LT230 which will have a hole cut into it for the PTO cover pipe to go through. This plate will then be bolted up to the box and when I have aligned the boxes and reduced it to the minimum length I shall weld some plates to the outside of the large pieces in order to create a box.
Once done I'll plasma cut the holes, remove the pipes and that'll be that :) all nice and aligned

Finally I also got a temp gauge in the post today so my pod is now complete :D its a mechanical one so it wont fail!

Oh and I modified the inlet manifold so I can fit it tomorrow, first job tomorrow is to do the welding, paint the rad frame then off to town to drop off my brake pipe ends and measurements before coming home to hopefully do the gearbox adaptor then drop the engine in as its meant to be dry tomorrow :D

Got a big shift on today :D will let the pics do the talking ;)

It then became apparent that my earth lead was a bit short.......so I welded some bar to the chassis!

And so it begins......

Wings started to get in the way.......so off they went and up onto the engine out the way

Meant I could lay down a couple of beads!

Then I rolled under the car and started......upside down with a stick isn't nice but I got a few nice beads down, ignore the slag as I hadn't chipped it all off yet

Gearbox is sat nicely inside the cab now :D

Engine is finally in place :)

And thats it in its home for the night :D

Cheers ;) its getting there!

If the starter fits I'll try to fire it up tomorrow, have a feeling I may need a noseless starter for my older style bellhousing if so I'll get it all ready to run and order one for next week. Got plenty of bodywork stuff to finish off and tomorrow I'm off to finalise the LT230 shaft adaptor

No I got one free this is a new one......and it is a special one  if you actually knew what you were talking about you'd know that the old muncie bellhousing for 55-70's engines have a smaller starter nose recess than the later ones for which you need a cast iron nosed starter or in this case a noseless one

But then again you are full of ****

Anyway yet again you've ignored all the positives and gone straight for being a complete arse  just proving the point that you really do want to see this thing fail so why don't you fcuk off onto a different thread where you're welcome.......if there is such a thread on here

so you got a free starter that would not fit and you had to order the correct one for the bell housing you got What happened with Doc philosophy of GM is GM and all will fit
