right well did a few bits this afternoon, and finished off a few jobs, got the whole exhaust system on, ive put the standard system in, i will modify it somewhen...... :) , ive put the drop arm on the relay and tightened all the bars up, im now ready to get on with the massive job of putting the bulkhead on and everything that goes with it

so a few pics of what ive done and the stuff back from the galvanisers :)

the bulkhead has got a few little holes in it from the shot blasting and a few dents from the careless galvanisers, but as it isnt going to rust again im not bothered i will just put filler in the holes so not to worried :)

so i will keep you updated with the hardest part of the whole lot!!

had a few spare hours today, so ive put the bulkhead on loose, im amazed it fits but it wasnt a problem!!, so that has now uncovered a s**t load of work for me to do, and i hate wiring!!

a few pics (sorry about the focus, i dont know what happened there)

so, i think that counts as progress?? :)

and although it is a bit bare at the moment it has come into my head that actually one day this thing might be on the road!! :)

pretty soon by the speed youre going, great pics, di the bulkhead warp any with the galvanising

really? it feels like its taking forever,
and as for the bulkhead, yes it did,it was about a holes width out, this could of been because they are both second hand parts that i bought or because of the galvanising, probably both , but it was easy to fix, i just put one bolt in and put a ratchet strap around the chassis and the end of the bulkhead, i thought it was going to be a massive struggle but i had it on in a few minutes, to be fair i was expecting it to be a bit out :)
but atleast it wont rust away, i have to say it is worth the effort and money of sending it to the galvanisers

Really taking shape now. Your going to have superb Landy in the end.
Thanks for sharing all this - very inspiring!

mmmmm shiney shiney what i like to see. the wiring isnt too bad if you work methodically. ive just wired up my series 2 from scratch which to be fair is probably less confusing than trying to work out whats what on a loom.

so i will post some more pics tommorow :)

I will be interested to find out if the doors will hang correctly to match the rear tub when its put back on. I am hoping I havent disturbed my bulkhead too much after welding new outriggers etc. Looking great by the way, keep these pictures coming and thanks for posting so far.

where did you get the pedal hole blanking plates? or did you just make them? i think im going to have to make some, its not hard but i just cant be asked to paint them

it just happened that we had a pair from a 109 we broke a couple of years ago, i suppose you could make them and leave them unpainted, you could even polish them ;)

got the old bulkhead off of the old chassis today and also bolted a few bits onto the shiny one , slowly but surely its coming along :)

nice, are you going to strip it back down after everythings fitted to paint or is it staying galv under the bonnet?

ye its staying galv under the bonnet, dont see the point in painting it all cos it isnt going to go rusty :)

ive got the primer, ive just got to put some filler in a few dents and then i can paint it, just painting the pillars and the vent panel, and the cobalt blue paint is on its way, cant wait :D

had a good day on the landy today

got the old bulkhead stripped exept for the loom

bolted the heater on to bulkhead

finished off the whole steering system, all works with virtually no play !

and changed the front crank shaft seal, timing belt, tensioner and idler, ready to put the engine back together again tommorow, finally!
