I can check both ends to where they enter chassis at each end so if its inside chassis can't get to it. How do I check with meter ?

meter or bulb but use the negative side on wire to be tested

Well what a bloody Nightmare this is. Problem with Headlights again but think I might be able to sort that.
Anyway It was a bad connection on the passenger side indicators where it joined the wire on column stalk in dash. wire is now good from front to rear
Now I can get all 4 corners working , Well I COULD for a few minutes untill they bloody stopped , Only the front drivers connected but could get the rest with test bulb.
Was trying the front passenger again with bulb and all of a sudden it stopped, tried the drivers side that is connected but nothing, Only the Indicator warning light on solid No Flashing. when I put the stalk back to off position I can hear the flasher click once, Looked at fuse but OK when I put it back in could hear the flasher click again. Not got a clue what went wrong it was going So Good Too.

Don't give up now there's light at the end of the tunnel or is is it some Pratt with a torch Relax it's a Land Rover ,just check flasher circuit remove flasher unit connections and link the wires that went to the X and L terminals this should
cause the lights to remain on the side selected by the indicator stalk and allow you to check your connections etc

Thanks sorted wires got all 4 working on test bulb But when plugged back into Flasher there is nothing no power no noise, do you think flasher us knackered with all the testing ect ? It is a brand new Lucas

Look like it they do make a electronic 3 tab version more reliable than the bi-metal type such as https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/3-pin...Fc5NzL5yrFyKJWlxVVKbseJiZADkx_yRoCDPEQAvD_BwE or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17537065...35eH5cF4ToGeQzjh0_EWL_sKnSXAs-axoCZvYQAvD_BwE the second being free postage I would fit the indicator lamps and test again before fitting flasher unit
All my local shop had in was this cheap one. , It works the Indicators but depending where I put plugs can only get either working with warning light on in cab and no bulbs working outside, OR bulbs flashing outside and no warning light inside,

yes the unit is need 12volt for the electronics'
Thanks will order one of those you mentioned, but will use this one untill it comes.

Another thing the side light and indicator connectors, I am 2 Indicator connectors short. the 2 brake lights at rear are double fitment for the bulbs, but the Indicators are single. but the 2 I need single Indicator.
I do have 2 new spares but they are double,
Question is can I wire a double to use as indicator bulb ?

you can get 21 watt single filament double contact bulbs but not sure but I believe the holders you have are staggered pins if they are parallel pinned https://www.ebay.com/itm/231832612755 these do not have staggered pin
you basically wire the earth to one contact and the feed to the other . the other alternative is to use a double filament bulb and only wire the 21 watt side .
in America they use the both filaments the 5 watt lit by the side circuit and the 21 watt flashes when indicating not sure that is legal in the UK

Think I will order a couple of these to save all the hassle , Land Rover Series Military Screw Lens Side Indicator Single Pole Bulb – embertonimperial that rusty one in pic might work if I clean it up.
Something that I noticed was On the ambulance the front Indicators are on the bottom and sidelights on top, but at the rear indicators are on top and sidelights on bottom, Is this Correct or can I put rear at bottom to ?
