have a 200tdi 88 1971 series 2a

electrics are a state thinking of rewire ?

thinks it a military as bumper and loads of switches and knobs on dash ?

also freewheeling hubs when put on free and drive hear a clicking ?

other then that quite a solid nippy old landy .

Theres different aproaches to that problem, if you want the wiring original, you've got a problem, unless your an auto leccy.
A good way to sort it would be to get another landy dash, or at least all the stuff you need to maske it standard and either an unknackered second hand loom, or a newun and start all over, that way it'll be right.
Convoy switches make good ebay fodder.

also can anyone help me with an issue under the bonnet ...

passengerside by wing and bulkhead there is a coil dnt know what it does but gets bloody hot !

is that the resistor that goes in circuit with the heater plugs?
if so, it should go off once the engine has started.

If it's the exposed coil thing maybe a couple of inches long mounted on the bulkhead then I think so. But don't quote me as I'm no electrickerist!

if the coil your talking about is in fact the heater plug coil, it was for the original 2 1/4 plugs. the 200 tdi doesent need it and it should be out of the circuit and redundant.
just another gremlin for you to investigate.

dnt think it does anything cant see nothin connected to engine . think ill leave it in till summer nxt year then rewire !

thanks guys
