Thanks mate.:) Really glad you've enjoyed it. :)

Has been a lot of work but has been worth it. Although still lots more I want to upgrade/change ;)

As for the 6x9s. Go for it! They make the sound quality so much better over the standard speakers. The sub and amp is optional (and overkill) but worth it in my opinion. It's sooooo loud! :D

Exactly the same with mine mate, just got my MOT today but theres still loads of stuff i want to do. Was in Halfords today and a couple of 6x9s are only 50quid really tempted but i need to finish off a few things first. Thinking they would fit well where the original speakers are on the C pillar? Would be out the way if i go wading then as well.

Congrats on passing! Tis always a worry when a landy goes in for an MOT!

Not a bad price to be honest. Luckily I didn't buy mine they came out of of daily a little while ago so had them sat round and thought why the hell not! :p

I did have them in the C pillar before I built the storage/bed/speaker box thing. Requires a but of faffing about to go in but they do fit. :)

Side exit looks good. I've got one but it rotted through above the axle so need to replace it. You running straight through from turbo back?

Thanks :) been meaning to do it for ages!

Err...... Yep. Straight through all the way! The turbo whistles a goodun now. :D

But like I say may put the centre box back on as I use it to drive to work at 6am most days. Don't think the neighbours will appreciate it somehow

'tis a minor issue :D I can't wait for mine to roar into life at 5:30 one morning
Should give them something to complain about then

Haha very true! :D I can imagine the Cummins will sound much betterer than my lil 300tdi though:p

I may wait until I get a complaint before doing something about it. Tis but more unnecessary work to change it for no reason

Good to know they fit where i wanted to put them. The whole truck has been a massive faf so i think a bit more wont do me any harm

I do enjoy the sound of the straight through exhaust, got a 2 1/2inch stainless one made up for mine. Lovely bit of 'whistle' you can hear :)

Yea they fit. The most annoying bit is cutting the hole big enough in the trim piece to accommodate the speaker. Although come to think of it, it would of been much easier had I used my dremel:eek:
Haha aren't land rovers in general just a faff? :p Tis always something that needs fettling or faffing about with. :D

Aye it does sound good. Can see me driving round with my windows open with foot firmly planted on the loud pedal far more often. :D

The whistle is pretty good. Can even hear the bugger spool down properly after a wide open throttle whilst stationery. :)

It's loud at the mo, But I'll be fitting a silencer at some point
Tdi's still sound good though :) Neighbour said that used to wake her up every morning too
Oh and can you reverse on because I'm getting a black mark on my car

Haha! Nothing wrong with loud! :D

Aye agreed it sounded good today driving through the narrow high Street in our village this evening. Loud pedal firmly planted to the floor. :D Got a few funny looks mind:rolleyes:

:pound: that last bit is brilliant! :pound:
I wonder how long it'll be before there is a massive black mark down the side of my grandparents Honda CRV that I park next to. :D

Body lift blocks painted and ready to go! :D

Should see this go on this weekend if weather is good:)

Cheers :)

Hello again.

Errr...... Well........ The body lift didn't get done this weekend :(
Ended up working 14 hours yesterday, ****e weather today plus the fact I'm shattered meant I haven't done an awful lot.

Spent most of the day on the sofa playing call of duty. Although did manage to get off my ass to get the spare HD axle rust treated. Still need to weld the diff pan up yet but figured I may as well do something.

Also gave the spare diff with 4 bolt flange I have a lick of paint as I have a 200tdi propshaft on the way. :) The lift is killing the donut quickly and now getting a bad vibration under acceleration so thought the sooner the better really.

Done both at the same time. :p And apologies for the mess.

Only other thing I did today was pull the rocksliders out of the corner and cut em in half ready to shorten them. (originally made em for my 109)so they will see some progress this week hopefully.

Won't be working next weekend as I'm doing the timing belt and servicing the engine, so if I have enough time I'll get on with the body lift too. :)

Cheers. :)

Hello! :)

Time for an update.

Timing belt and service this weekend along with fitting a 200tdi rear propshaft and 4 flange diff I have spare. :)

So this evening started stripping down the front of the engine to do the timing belt. Also going to be removing the air con whilst I'm at it, but more on that later.

Got as far as getting the timing cover off before calling it a day and I'm so glad I'm doing the belt!

It's safe to say the tensioner is eating the belt!

Good job I ordered the modified crank pulley!

Thank you to Jamesmartin for giving me the help on the timing belt ordering.;)

Tomorrow morning it'll be belt off give the timing case a bloody good clean, change the oil seals then fit the new belt and modified kit.

Depending on how well (or badly) that goes may have enough time to start on the propshaft change. After it's had the obligatory lock of paint of course :D

Cheers.

Timing belt is done! :D

Luckily managed to get the bonnet in the garage so I could do it as it's been ****ing it down all day here. :(

Was slightly bricking it when it came to first start up but after a couple of cranks she fired back into life :)

Took it down the road to make sure it was OK then parked it up and packed up my tools as I'm fed up with the weather.
Tomorrow is supposed to be better so will get on with the oil and filter change then. And also change the rear prop and diff. :)

Cheers.

Finally got round to sorting the 200tdi propshaft out this afternoon.
No more vibration under heavy acceleration :)

Apologies for my grubby hand prints all over the nicely painted prop

1 more mod crossed off the list! Many more to go..........

Cheers :D

Hey all.

Small update for you. :)

New wheels and tyres! :D

They are 255/85/16's BF Goodrich M/T's. So a little bigger.

And a comparison pic of the new and old.

Will get some better photos in daylight tomorrow once I've trimmed the rear arches a bit. :p

Cheers. :D

Couple of decent daylight pictures of new wheels and tyres. :D

Looks much better than it did on them alloys!

Now need some extended arches so I can do some more trimming

Cheers :D

that is one sturdy CB aerial!!:D

Great thread, some very good pictures of your welding,

keep it up,

Haha yea the aerial takes some abuse. Well it did today laning. Some pretty overgrown ones at points.

And thanks! :) Plenty more to come yet! ;)

Aye aye Robb, been a while since I checked in pal

Glad to see more progress pics than chat :D

Hey Sam! How you doing bud? Glad you checked in. :D

And yep a lot of progress. Although progress may slow down a bit from here on in as the mods I'd like to do now cost lots of dollar. :(

Winch and rear locker are next big ones I think. And more lights of course. :D

How's things coming along with your disco?
