My current fan looks like GRRRRR'S except the black lugs are nuts and the shear bolts are grub screws. I think I'll have a play with it to see if I can get the blades off. That way I'll have a spare for 15 notes.

Do I just top up the coolant and run the engine as per RAVE for radiator drain and refill? Do I need to do anything to stop air locks etc?

Fan? Should be a straight swap. The the coolant boiled away a bit then yes.

All good?

Yes fan went on in 10 mins so I can get your tools back to you. Took both hoses off the rad so I could replace the cowl, so lost about 1/2 ltr of coolant. Just thinking that I have water in the header, an airgap at the input hose, water in the rad, an airgap at the outlet hose and water in the block. Just feels to me to many opportunities for an airlock.

As long as the little hose on the top of the rad is free it should sort itself out.

Yep just run it top as required until warm then leave to cool and top again if needed to bring to level.
