OK I dont care at all whether this thing will stop, you wont be in our group :D:D

But the question I would like answering is not whether you have swapped a winch for a heavier engine. Its what does the total thing weigh, complete with all the massive bits of stuff you have welded for it :D

Put it on a weighbridge and then compare to a completely standard vehicle.

Then remember that the dammed things didn't stop that well when they were new :D:D:D And certainly not if you were going down steep hills and the brakes heated up.

I'm up for a photoshoot I'll stand at the top of Hard Knott and Wrynose when you test your theory :D:D:D

Seeing as I need to do 11,000 rpm in first gear to get to 10mph or 8500 in second I reckon it'll stop quite happily using engine braking ;) it wont even be moving without having my foot down!

The whole thing weighs less than a standard series I'll tell you that much! I bet if you put it next to Sams series mine will weigh about 20kg less as his is fully kitted up with camping gear

That also being said I've got lwb drums on mine, still standard but not standard to the swb they're rated slightly higher

I a personal thought
Years ago I had a 200 tdi fully customised for almost every aspect of off road entertainment
Only to find that it was so slow that it would get stuck going up a slope
Think what you want from your car not what others want to see
Love drewster

Personally I just want mine to go fast enough to keep up, steer and stop before I trash the Landy in front :D

Oh and that axle travel and articulation which the Doc doesn't have sounds useful as well :D:D:D:D

Thats been changed ;) thanks to the super short american gearbox I'm now running my prop length is going to be about the same if not longer than standard!

After that experience I gave up and went for a totally standard 90 and have only added a winch for the just in case point

I want a winch :(

Glad you use spell check lol or auto correct lol

I was lucky a friend of mine did not need it any more and offered it to me
All I had to do was get a shadow winch bumper to fit it to
But I do know that it would have cost a packet
Only get one if you think you have a need for it

I already have the winch bumper. Daughter was buying me a winch for my birthday but she got fed up waiting for me to fit the bumper and bought me something else :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

A nice warn 9.5 ti with 10 mm marlow rope will do you well

Not anymore :p We're kipping in the truck, warmer than camping :D And cheaper than a B&B, everybody's happy :D

what you doing about toilet and showering?

I'll get to that hurdle when I reach it :D

Plus I'm thinking of making a swinging table like thing off the back door for a gas stove so may be panad making facilities at brekkie time...possibly...

Showers are no problem, I have a 12 volt one that plugs into the cig lighter for washing horses.

However I'm not so sure how pleasant it would be in -20 in February :D:D:D:D
