You wants these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jumbo-Ve...865056?hash=item1c5805e2e0:g:lkEAAOSwyQtV14Af I ordered 2mtrs as mine's a 3 door and I'll still have some left over after doing the other side :)

I likes the new wheels an tyres but there is a lot to fitting them and extended arches are going to be needed but can't make up my mind what ones.

Only rubbish from the side of wanting to have gotten more done but I did get the new panels painted an seam sealed inside as well :D

I think that mite still leak, if yu go thru any fords .

Always wan5 to get more done than you do that's just the way I think! I finish on Wednesday so hoping for 3 days on it
Nice, i'm hoping to smash the other side an floor then get it MOTd as the passenger side sill is still solid enough then do the sill after I've been out to play a few times, jury is out on that for now as it's not a silly amount more work getting the sill in at the same time

Then there is the on board air system to consider too but that's a project on it's own ;)

Are you using an air conditioning compressor run off the engine for the air?

Sadly I had that on my wish list of add on but opted for a 2nd alternator for winching and aux battery usage :(

I have seen several A/C compressor installations now and think they are the bomb in terms of constant air at high volumes and insane pressures if you dare go that high ;)

I bought a twin cylinder 12V compressor for my install and a 2nd hand receiver off a Audi Q7 off eGay, plan is to make the receiver permanent with all the air lines and couplings

Going to be a while until I get round to this as a whole new project but as I have all the parts it might happen in a hurry :)

Was just musing to myself about getting the bitumen based underseal on under the wheel tubs and boot floor, thought "that's OK, I can just back up on the ramps and get her done" then I remembered how wide my new tyres are, a lot wider than my Halfrauds car ramps :eek::eek:

Hmmm?

You wouldn't catch me under a fiat uno sat on halfords car ramps let alone 2t of land rover lol. Get some sleepers from work? your shutz is going ontop of your corroless I assume?

I've got 3 cans of the schutz but I might just use it on the high impact areas like the wheel tubs and front inner wings an foot well and just use black waxoyl on the rest? I know I ideally need to get the chassis protected inside and out and I have been thinking about the many instances of where the over paintable underseals end up creating rust pockets that are not visible and that at least with Waxoyl it wears off and can be applied/touched up annually and should worst case scenario that I need to get in there for more work later on then I need only a rag an white spirit and it wipes off.

By god what have I started now

My ramps, although from Halfords, are in fact AA branded ones and are actually made quite decently made, I feel some form of mutilation would be out of order so might have to get some 35X35X4mm angle iron and make some of my own up, bit taller, bit wider and a bit longer, was thinking that some axle to chassis wedges would be good too.

Door post trim now repaired with some Gorilla epoxy, loves that stuff :)

On the back of the plastic trim there are 4 panel pins that slot into small metal clips that are located on moulded plastic pins that are melted down over the clips to secure them.

IMG_20190325_182058.jpg

Three of the four pulled off the back of the trim so needed reattached, cue getting a bit of emery out and keying up the plastic for the epoxy, small dab of epoxy under the clips and then locate them and then a good dollop of epoxy over the top and a little smearing of it all around the surrounding plastic where it has been keyed with the emery.

Just need to pop into Halfrauds and grab some new pins for this side and some for the other side as spares just in case I manage to break them on the removal of the other side trim.

Weather is smashing and I'm stuck with a baby :(

Don't get me wrong, I love my little bundle of joy but not being outside fixing it up in this glorious sunshine is doing my head in

Fire blanket & welding mask needed for junior DD
They learn by watching a good worker

Fire blanket lol beats a fleece I suppose :)

Maybe not watching directly tho.

I'll get her one of them full UV shields :D

Popped out just now to pop the battery charger on the batteries in prep for tomorrows action and switched the ignition on the check it's all working but found that my aux battery volt meter isn't working at all  Fault finding on my list of things to do tomorrow as well as getting on with stripping out the passenger side rear outer quarter panel and chopping out some rot and might even be able to make a start welding it all back together too as I've already got the wheel tub and side panel welded up and primed :D

Christ on a bike, forgot the clocks changed and gotta do the mothering Sunday bit as the dutiful son

Just going to pop muh overalls on quick and stick the bolts through the tail pipe and wind em up tight before I forget then off to civilisation so I can justify being a recluse.
