Yes, it's called a train :eek::oops:

I bought me a nice shiny new radiator, aluminium one, it pretty :)

OK, got that out the way, now it's the crappy bit, turns out the oil cooler pipes are different and changed half way through 200Tdi production (I knew this, but forgot), so I have old cooler pipes and they are not at all compatible with new radiator, now I'm hunting down adaptors or I'm going to have to buy new pipes and mutilate one in order to fit them.

You need other pipes I have the allisport gear il need look through the pile of receipts to find the part no's.

Oh yes, the other pipes will fit the radiator but not the oil filter housing, it's mental, typical Land Rover though lol

Really that's strange mine were the other way round, I ended up cutting the ones on my 90 as the engine sits further
back & joined them with some high pressure marine hose then double jubilee clips.

That’s odd!!

I bought my fender for good money for a Land Rover specialist.

So many bodges but the worst was that theyd bodged a 48spline wheel on a 36 shaft. I only discovered that this month thank fcuk) when it was having a drop arm conversion and alignment done. They popped the steering wheel but and the wheel span on the shaft. I’ve emailed them and no response.
Day after I bought it I filled it up and half the diesel went on forecourt floor. No seal on the pump. I took it back. They fitted seal. Pump failed weds and when I pulled it the sender wire was snapped and twiddled back together and there was no gauze on pump.
Second week of owning it, I discovered it had rotted out under dash in a hard to see spot. Dash out, welded her up and sound deadened.
Third week fuel reg started streaming - Fitted a Bosch replacement.
2 weeks ago injector harness failed. Throttle also went dead after a wet drive.
Some of these are known td5 bits and I can take that on chin but the steering wheel I can’t. Reason being, after viewing it I said I didn’t like the wheel and he offered to fit a leather lr one - must’ve been a Tdci wheel. So they knowingly bodged the wheel and also the fuel pump. Disgusting and I will shame the fcuk out of them and cause pain should I not get a response

I was just looking at Mocal oil to air coolers and mounting a cooler in the engine bay as a way around this little conundrum.

I was just thinking to bypass the cooler for the mo with a loop of 3/4 heater hose?

What rad did you go for?

No not yet mate, I'm unsure whether to even start tbh, my hearts not really in it, there's things that need attention on the Defender and that's keeping my hands full during any spare time I have atm!

We've been desperately searching for a house to buy because during lockdown we had to move out of our rented house which wasn't ideal due to landlords family matters... hate being at the mercy of someone else, and want my little one to have a proper solid base he knows is home... all of which is coming before the RRC. Tbh, I was toying with the idea of selling the shell and repair panels I've bought.... who knows, lol!

I’ve done same - I want to move and got a half dead disco on drive but you’ll regret selling unless you really need the cash. Family first obviously but your motor can wait and isn’t going anywhere

I think I retapped the rad to fit, on mine...
I certainly had the same problem, but was a (relatively) easy fix.

For crying out loud.

Thought we were good to go, all was well until I came to the black cat on the A1 when suddenly I had no power steering, it was rather heavy and resembled manual steering, quick stop and.......

There was power steering fluid all over the inner wing and the reservoir resembles a snow globe of glitter under torch light and turbulent as hell while running.

The fluid smells burnt and rank :(

Here we ho again.....

Sorry to here your woes:(
But curious is that a cut down sports bike end can your using as an air filter housing, just nosy:D

Black cat! That’s a long way from home!!!!
What was it burst pipe or shot seal?

Think pressure relief valve in pump is shot?

No that's a carbon fibre air filter housing with a performance cone filter inside as the tin can original was fugged an no use for snorkel fitting.
