Well, we all knew what it would be like didn’t we.. ffs.
Drivers side is better. I de-loomed and pulled wiring through. Had a stupid moment and started unplugging more than I needed to but realized luckily.
This is a days repair. Nothing scary until the floor and bodge around the inner wing mount. I’m just happy the brace is good so I can tee off it

That is a patch it up and go jobber right there, nothing too bad, well not as bad as it could have been

I got a lump of 1.5mm steel sheet going spare if you want it? Probably about 2.6" X 4" I would say.

Thanks but keep it for yours! I got few sheets still. I’ve seen froggats do the two annoying bits I need - the mount bracket and shut off plate. I just don’t know what order to do it in!! From the mount up I guess

Got that last bit of the rear footwell/wheel arch/quarter panel plated up today, was going to do more but I just can't be arced in this heat

Tidy little stack on the down hill.

Got the patch on over the top of the scabby pressing, like the panels flat, but what can ya do

Nice clean lines and it's not too bad inside :)

Over view of work area says it's seam sealer ready :D

IMG_20190826_181700.jpg

Underneath is all primed and ready for me to seam seal it when it's dry.

@kevstar I never did get round to sorting the welding helmet out as I wanted but this was a close second and get's my vote :)

Notice the structural duct tape on there, black is structural, silver is cosmetic :p

Start at the foot well and work your way to the front, just make sure you remove the sound deadening foam from the foot well before you start welding, that is how mine ended up needing to be re-wired after the old boy set it on fire

There’s none there mate and have pulled loom though as a joint is right on loom grommet. I’ll buy the froggats but payday. I’m also not that far off on the boot but the angled tie in is scaring me a little. Good thing about moving all the loom and junk it getting the engine clean. There was a fat hose off the screenwash pump with a big bolt blocking end. Wondered if they used it to clean rad after use. Found some silly horns too. Sorry I’m cluttering your thread. I did put on mine but replied to yours haha

No drama, always good to have a bit of chat in there along with the boring "oooh, look how super duper cool my bolt on bits are" or if it's my thread it goes along the lines of "oh frack, look another fracking rusty hole and more rust to cut out" lol

Gorilla tape, that's a bit on the dear side for me, I make do with the cheap stuff I get from work.

They’re like cargo vents to prevent condensation I think. My hilux has them too. When you get condensation on steel it rusts so luckily mine was fitted with these. o_O

Sunday is fun day and after some chores I got out and attacked the hulking great pile of scrap on the drive :)

Cut a big lump out of the rear quarter behind the filler pipe pressing and fitted a new plate in there.

Finished the patch under the light box with another small plate and started running the ring of small plates round the filler neck but ran out of enthusiasm and it was getting late too.

I have seam sealed it all up where its finished.

Got the rear door off today as well which is a bit of a mission when you're on your own lol.

A good while ago I fitted some extra reversing lights and although they are gone for now (there will be some more door mounted lamps to come later) I left the wiring in and had never quite gotten round to fitting an actual plug as I wasn't actually expecting to have to remove the rear door again

Went a bit like this.

2 wire plug from Halfords or your usual internet scumbags.

Multi purpose wire crimping tool.

IMG_20190901_134653.jpg

Most important bit for these jobs is the non insulated terminal crimping tools.

IMG_20190901_134636.jpg

Strip them bare
IMG_20190901_134428.jpg

Crimp the terminals on and slot them into the holder.

Home alone this coming week so I ought to have uninterrupted time when I get back from work to get out and have a few hours here and there on it.

I was quite surprised by that back door post and how flimsy it is considering that the spare wheel is mounted on the door!
