weather has been crap, 6 inches of snow meant that i couldn't get the roof painted so thats hopefully tomorrows job (landys going under a tarp on the drive) more progress then.

Looking really good sam, what sort of paints are you using?

Well done Sam, it's looking really good.

Well done matey :) Nearly there now ;)

thanks chaps its getting there now. its cellulose paint that I'm using.

weather has been against me again today, started off with a trip to get a front numberplate made up and a tarpaulin to stop it filling with snow the numberplate was successful but the tarp was too small and with the heavy wind meant that idea was abandoned.

anyway enough moaning got the roof, bonnet and back door painted and some more bits done outside, fitted some reflectors on the rear, had an incident with a door blowing open and chipping the paint on the bulkhead so fitted the door stays, some matting in the footwells and the pedal lock.

the plan is to try and get it to an mot on saturday, just relying on having a screen fitted during the week and a few bits still needs seat belts, vent seals, seats, some sealant on the exhaust joints, wipers, roughly set tracking and headlight aim. oh and exited the garage a tad to quickly and nearly ripped the windscreen frame off on the door handle ooops

:D Sam :tea:

Keep up the good work Sam!

Glad to hear the doors were ok (once you had removed the paint!) Regarding the door stays, that type doesn't have any way of holding itself open annoyingly. A job on my to-do list is to modify a set from 1 piece doors and see if that would work.

I noticed you've used an airfilter housing from a 300tdi disco, do you have any pictures of how you have mounted it?

Harry

cheers Harry yes I'm pretty happy with the doors worth the sunday drive out, ill look into the door stays at a later date. the air box is mounted on a rubber cotton reel type exhaust mount from the side of the air box to the outer to inner wing bracket, going to see how it is in that position its a tight squeeze.

got the seat belts and seats mounted this evening

got a quote for autoglass to supply and fit the windscreen and after a moments silence ( £383 excluding VAT) they were swiftly told ill go elsewhere, hopefully someone local is going to sort it on thursday.

the whole things covered in dust gonna be a hell of a job to clean everything.
:D Sam

right then got the new screen fitted on thursday, spent yesterday flat out reassembling everything hit some issues like once the roof and sides were all bolted and tightened my Custom rear door didn't fit so had to bang the old one on for the MOT, and the internal bonnet release wouldn't work so had to cut a slat out of the grille to operate the release that way.

anyway to cut a long story short he flew though the mot this morning  just waiting for some docs to come though then i can get some tax. now the small things to sort i.e. door trims, the back door, seal some of the "poor" fitting panels, add some sound, cb, some sound deadening, line the hardtop panels and roof.

pretty happy at the minute :D:D:D spent the rest of today sorting out the aftermath of yesterdays activities. the entire contents of my tool chest scattered over the garage.
