You cant compare EAS with coils, EAS is a totally different ball park. It's really a very simple system and like other posts have said it works a treat if looked after. I would also recommend EAS diagnostics and if worried a set of Schrader valves as a belt and braces. You will never go back to coils

Very boaty unstable jelly like ride, lots of body roll it's so bad that if you have 2 rear passengers the will be banging heads across the middle seat driving round corners even on A roads.

There is one small pothole on the slow lane of the A303 on my way home that I rode over once at 70 and thought it was going to roll over! Same place speed in my classic hardly noticed it. Something is seriously not right, every passenger that's been in it comments on it.

I have 18" wheels, and replaced the shocks a few months ago.

Just wondered if anyone could vouch for the bearmach springs?
To be honest that sounds like a much bigger issue than springs. Are you sure your axles are actually fitted to the vehicle correctly.

I've just had it mot'd at my well trusted local garage and had mentioned the ride quality issue beforehand as would rather know if there's an issue and went straight thru with a green light for all suspension components.

If you do it right you wont be stranded. Have a look at my previous posts (early this year) on being stranded with the EAS... it was because I didn't sort things correctly. As long as you have the schrader valves in the glove box you wont be stranded..but they shouldn't be needed if you've sorted it correctly in the first place. Learn from my mistake.
I will research this in detail once I've committed to fitting the bags, only a couple weeks away, maybe in touch shortly!!

ride issues wouldnt be a concern only the condition of parts fitted, with the right coil springs it should be a firm well handling vehicle, though not height adjustable

And more likely to tip over at speed. Just like the early classic. :D:D

Actually I think it's the latter classics with ARB's that would be easier to flip. Much more snatchy on the limit. And when you reach the point the ARB's can't cope, they will suddenly pitch.

The early Classics were bloody dangerous at speed on twisty roads believe me, i road tested enough of them to know that. The rear ARB was introduced to try and calm them down. But things were never completely cured. Nothing like as good as a P38 on air which is in a different class.

I've just spend the weekend throwing the RR round really twisty single track roads - never shat my pants once.

air springs arent much different to coils, excepting the ability to change height its the arb that helps, or better still the ace on d2,

No issues at all :p
P38 should only be used on 16 and 18 inch wheels, if you don't believe me the search Datatec's numerous posts on the subject or PM him if you don't believe me. :pcannot find a two fingered smilie to show what I couldn't give.;)

Looks like Datatec has been scrubbed from the members list so searching his posts may be a problem, has big brother caught up with him?
