If you try this argument then no vehicles would be on the road. Or you be having to fit oem tyres, service items etc and go one step further than tuv style management

I'll risk "breaking the law"

EU are trying to stop you working on your own car and stop you using non genuine parts. You can guess who the proposers for this are getting back handers off i am sure. :D:D

Lads father in law lived in La Marina it was wick with them. :D:D
We lived in Ciudad Quesada, the other side of Rojales from La marina. We had one who used to visit every day and padlock her bike to the lampost near the garage under the arches.your lads F/in law will know where I mean. I believe its been that developed there that La marina is joined to Quesada and the development runs to Torrevieja now. A journey to the hypermarket that used to take 10 mins now takes 1 hour. Probably drivers looking at the girls on offer on the roundabouts.

Sadly Dennis passed away a couple of years ago, but have been to Torrevieja a couple of times. We stayed with him a few times for our hols. ;)

I'm not arguing, just stating fact. The P38 is only homologated for 16 and 18 inch wheels. The changes proposed by the EU will have us on our knees. I have just fallen foul of a law that was introduce in 1998 in Spain. I put my car in for its MOT (ITV in Spain) thinking that I will sort out any problems if it fails. It failed on brakes and suspension and a clause was pointed out to me was that if a vehicle fails on brakes, steering or suspension, the repairs must be carried out by an approved garage and you have to produce the bill at the ITV station at the retest. This I guess is the tip of the iceberg

We loved Quesada, we had a house that backed on to the private airfield, we sold up before they closed it and build 2300 small houses on the site.

Property market was falling apart last time i was in La Marina lots selling up and moving home you could get a seriously nice place for about €150,000.00 or less. The dagos were putting the squeeze on ex pats from everywhere. One bloke a pensioner who was caught sweeping up in his wifes hairdressing shop was fined €1000.00 for working whilst receiving a pension. Bob an ex pro footballer again a pensioner couldn't work in his own bar, he had to take on a Spaniard to run it. ;);)

Our next door neighbour tried to sell after we left, valued at 1.5 million euro, on the market for 850k and accepted an offer of 650k. The buyer pulled out the day they were due to go to the notary, I don't know if they ever sold.

The early Classics were bloody dangerous at speed on twisty roads believe me, i road tested enough of them to know that. The rear ARB was introduced to try and calm them down. But things were never completely cured. Nothing like as good as a P38 on air which is in a different class.
Then maybe we'll have to agree to disagree. But if it was so bad, how come Land Rover not only continued to sell the 90 without ARB's and also started selling the Discovery 1 without them.

Classics always had a front ARB as i recall the rear one was added later as a modification. Because they were so bad. Don't know about 90 and early Discos. Have never seen a Disco without a front one. ;)
