If all else fails a hammer and cold chisel on one of the flats but it will damage the flat
you were trying to undo it towards the air filter side i hope
I use a piece of flat bar so as not to cause too much damage to flats. 12" long 11/4" wide and 3/8" thick. Fits lovely and not failed me yet over the 20 years I'ved had it

i've used 3/4th of the worlds resources to try to get it off, still aint off :D And, gosh why is my tensioner so damn tight to just slack off abit?? i am supposed to push it upwards ay? with a long rod smth. I do honestly do as RAVE explains about the tensioner. So i guess its just quite stif on mine. heard they should be oiled?

But does anyone know the part number for the tool or yeah a link on ebay maybe

ah right, as Brian says ^^^ then
well the good news is if you are struggling with the fan that this is quite normal and why you should coppaslip it on refit. First thing to note is that its left hand thread so undoes the opposite way to normal. heat would help but is probably not a good idea in that confined area with the plastics, but use plenty of penetration fluid like Plusgas and let it soak in.
i used a giant adjustables on the nut and a stilsons the other side to prise them apart. i jammed the one against something there, then while applying as much pressure to the adjustable as i could, gave it a sharp clout with a club hammer to crack it off.
persistence is the key, dont give up and it will come eventually

Rave says tools are
LRT-12-093
LRT-12-094

bought the 093 as thats the one i need.
Hopefully fast shipping. Bougth from island4x4

i will be back when i get the tools, and hopefully have the job done and then ill see if a water pump and thermostat change fixes my fluctuating coolant temperature.

if not i guess its just a fekd gauge temp sender. Idk whats hot or not but my car went to 97celsius, unloaded, uphill steep 4km, at max heat and full blast on hvac… bleed it like hundreds times for weeks, cant be air.

I didn't get the viscous fan off no, i maybe used some wrong words  So i need that thing which holds the pulley whilst knocking the viscous off. I've got the 32/36mm viscous wrench

I got the tool to hold the fan pulley to undo the fan off eBay. A bit cheapo but does the job.

Coolant has to be the same type. Don't mix them. I can never remember which is which but my Jag is different. Spec is in RAVE. Think it is the long life stuff for ally heads.

its the same color, same brand, same specs. Only difference is that the other one is premixed with water, do i need de mineralised water? Ive read i cant use tap/garden water??

You can use tap as long as you're not topping up all tbe time. Soft water no issue. Demineralised probably best but not worth the expense.

Years ago I used to scrape the frosting off the freezer and use that for battery top ups. Read it somewhere maybe bullocks dunno.
Think your correct as long as it's collected in plastic containers but it may be two of us talking bollocks. I got some deionised water from my window cleaner .

Should be OK as essentially it is frozen water vapour.

Never known a modern battery to need topping up, if they do they are usually knackered. Ice from the fridge is OK as is water from a dehumidifier.

Ouchie.. just got a message from island 4x4 saying this tool https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/viscous-coupling-holding-tool-v8tds25-300tdi-lrt12093-p-6728.html
does not fit the P38 2.5DSE. So the package is not sent from them :/

is LRT-12-093 not the right part number for the tool, holding the waterpump pulley whilst doing the viscous on the 2.5DSE 96/97?? (m51 engine)

I must admit I've never used a holding tool, over to you @myfirstl322 ,the correct size spanner and a belt with a lump hammer IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. Does the job for me.;):D IMMIC 32mm for the diesel and 38 mm for the petrol.
