Well I had to cut a fair bit of the lip off the back of the old one to get the sleeve in the vice. The metal looks powdery where its snapped in places. Not sure if I'd want to put that back on even in an emergency.

Well maby...

Right, we're on.

I've put copper slip on the sleeve thread, sleeve/elbow slot & cap to secure elbow joint. Nothings torqued up yet, though.

Definitely must have been the tensioner itself as the new one gave way much easier with lots of movement.

What size allen key do I need for the AC tensioner & is it just as tight as I can lever it?

I think its the 10mm Allen key from what I've read elsewhere on thr forum. The thread turned into a barney 😄. One guy stating the AC tensioner has "two holes above each other..."

No lol. Running joke, was Mcaster Mcallister something like that his name was? Kicked off one day on about how many ovens he got. Probably banned now 😂

⚠️ WARNING! ⚠️
The following material you are about to see may induce nausea and/or panic. Well it has for me anyway...

Please tell me I had the right settings and I'm just a numpty for using the old bolts... I leave my torque wrench at zero after every use, too. It didn't click.

I've mixed up some milliput and stuck a ball of it on the end of the thread sticking out. The idea being when it sets like rock I can unscrew it. Prat for me, lads. Pray for me... 🙏

Don't have a welder or welding skills unfortunately. There's a garage round the corner though. They might be able to get someone out.
I'll give my milliput experiment a go and see what happens. I might get lucky...
What size bolt is it?
8mm or 10mm.. I don't remember tbh...
