For gods sake, why would he do any of that stuff on a ford on a tarmac road.

If I'm being honest I would probably have driven though it in my Focus if there weren't any warning signs :D:D:D:D

Paul was lucky, it is to be hoped some other poor motorist hasn't done the same, perhaps with kids in the car too.

The people who have been irresponsible here are whoever should have put warnings out.

And I will be happy to follow Paul without a lifejacket :p:p:p:p:p:p

Although having read Pauls account I have yet another reason to own a proper Landy not one with nasty electrics. I don't have central locking and mine has window winders :p:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Old school window winders are good :D
Mine are old school too as are the locks :)

Can't understand why you wouldn't want a fetching life jacket though! the height of fashion dahling :D

I'm not suggesting Paul has been irresponsible at all  He is undoubtably one of our most experienced and skilled drivers and if he got caught out then it gives the less experienced like me pause for thought

Paul I'm glad your OK. I guess your going to be in for an awful nights sleep with lots of nasty dreams about it. Thank God you we're with some other people. There's a Ford just behind my house it looks pretty innocent but does get very deep. I've seen 8ft on the depth bar before. A good few years ago a guy tried to cross it in Pug 405 and it got swept about 10 foot down stream. Car was stuck for days before anybody recovered it. Was a real shock when they found the driver still sat in it. He hadn't actually drowned but had suffered a heart attack while he was trying to climb out the sun roof. On a brighter note I really hope your beastie lives to fight another day. I've got my fingers crossed you can dry her out, change all the fluids and get her running again. Be a bloody excellent thread on here.
