Well, the intercooler goes between the turbo and the inlet manifold. Not sure how (or why!) you'll fit it to the 19J engine.

Often wondered about intercooling as it might deal with some of the heat stresses of 19J.As you say cant find much info.I wonder if the fuel map of the turbo can adapt to intercooling you might get alot of lag.I think replumbing and enlarging the oilcooler out of the rad might hep with the heat stresses too,but if you have the bits it will be good to intercool.Best of luck!Yes i've got the relevant radiator & intercooler plus frame, just need some tips on which pipes go where and what needs to be removed etc.

The pipe from intercooler goes onto inlet manifold.Maybe should be the top pipe tothe manifold its a while since I worked on intercooled.Sure one of tdi people knows.
Yeah, but the 19J only has a little diddy pipe between the turbo and the inlet manifold. This is what you need to replace with two pipes going to and from the intercooler. I appreciate the effort - but given that you're gonna be putting a 200tdi in at some point I still can't understand why you'd want to spend the time and energy doing this!
Ian.
Two of the diddy rubber pipes might be used to connect the turbo outlet and the manifolld inlet via an IC. I think it should go Turbo-pipe to bottom of IC-pipe from top ofIC-inlet manifold but there are many who know more than I about IC.Understand Ians comments but think it could be worth it just for the interest of doing itYeah, but the 19J only has a little diddy pipe between the turbo and the inlet manifold. Nearside Front front Track rod end ball joint has slight play (2.2.B.1f)
Nearside Front rear Track rod end ball joint has slight play (2.2.B.1f)
I'm guessing they're referring to the actual track rod as the "rear" and the drag link as the "front"?
