Thankyou gennulmen! :)

Yep, time to read about tuning!

Got to sort out a heater box and wire up a dashboard switch panel first though before I can get anywhere, it's still in a lot of pieces!

Next job is plug it into the laptop to have a look and make sure everything seems to be working then remove, tape and refit the loom for good!

Cheers! :)

Brilliant job, nice install, looks very neat and professional!

^^^

That wil be a RF SAS supression Kit, its a sheilded Dizzt ca unit and a coil cover ? with some natty plaited leads ?

If so then it offers a definate improvement over anything else, and helps with "Splash" proofing vs Deep bonnet under wading etc or being undr bonnet and stationary. If you can have a bow wave and keep the unit down to being spalshed then it helps one hell of a lot, I tried one years back, big improvment, erm I just found that when I killed it with too much water I was then in even more trouble than I was before I fitted it !:D

Depends on what your planning to do, but yes next to megasquirt its about as good as you'll get, adding a 1 litre "Plastic Bottle" and zippy tieing it over the cap will help more still.

It is a RF supression set, but it does have a side efeect of improving warer resistence

However if is a Distributor itself, beware if its a 101 as the advance curve and maz adavnce is cmpletely different to a High Comp V8

Nige

Thanks Nige. Yeah, bottles, gloves, ties n all manner of messin has been done. Yup, the kit is Bradley branded. A big ba'std distributor, shiny coil and sparkley leads!. Got some paperwork for it inc contract numbers n Nato codes, and as far as I've found after a bit of searching, the auction house and others in the know, it's part of an itinary of spares for MOD V8 Rangies.....(I had been looking with them for ages for this kit, so was well chuffed...this was jackpot for me)
It's just a shame I've not seen any complete RCCs yet!
...Will get round to fitting one day. just a bit reserved about doin it whilst its running so well as it is at the mo!

Booooooooooo!

Mine now GOT coolant and I've run it for at least an hour and SO FAR it hasn't blown up or spewed melted piston out the tailpipe in a Playdough stylee :D

But yes it did run in and out the workshop a few times too!

Barely got the heads warm really, the will have had water in it so it was kinda self cooling, til it got warm that is :p

lol @ diode, I had exactly the same issue with the engine change in the Midget. Bloody thing wouldn't turn off, even after I'd disconnected the battery. Had to unplug the fuel cutoff switch

Hows it going??

Me running ms3x

dual maps..boosted..full sequential..

So much better than stock ecu..

1200 was alot though...my ms3x was 600 all in..built including loom..

You sussed tuning yet??hours of fun there

Hi mate :)

It's going alright thanks, hasn't left the workshop yet though!! :D

Have only set the tickover, set tacho out and checked ignition timing!

Still in a million pieces doing this wiring job so can't get it on the road yet.

Regards the price, this was a full kit including all the hardware etc, and all the optional extras.

MS3 is definitely a nice idea, something I will look at in a few years I think, because no I have completely not got my head round it yet (mainly cos I haven't driven/tuned it i think) so yes I am looking forward to it immensely.

My brain is about to explode I've got so many circuits jumbling around in my memory at the moment so it's a good thing that its in no fit state to drive yet! :D

Thanks for stopping in :)

kool...you running lpg...cos if you do it can sort that too..

about to get rid of my aeb ecu and run the lpg completely via ms,,just need to make up 8 low impedance injector drivers..(ms dont run low impedance unless resistor in series..dont like that idea..)
does all the dual fuel calculationstoo, even temp and pressure of gas corrections...

dont you love ms!

Just petrol for me zen but it would be nice to have ECU controlled LPG.

Mark, it stands to reason that you can tune your LPG injection for power and economy as opposed to just having a fixed jet!! :)

re lpg..

oh yes you can tune lpg to get improvement over standard lpg setup..

i have full sequential lpg before running latest aeb ecu...

BUT however now i have ms3 running the motor i can use the duaL maps, both spark and fuel...so.i have set the aeb base map flat..no tuning and allowed ms3 to control the gas fuel ..this has made a massive difference,as it has many more bins to play with...PLUS now i can tune it to whatever A/R ratio i like..as stoick. of lpg is 15.6:1 not 14.7:1 it means i can now get the lpg to run much more ecomomicy and also more power..
i have set it up to 16:1 or even 16.5;1 at cruise and down to 12:1 on boost..

BUT the main advantage is i now have full spark control.. so now on full boost i am running over 25 degrees without any pinking on gas..thats 5 more than 99 ron petrol...it dont even need water/meth injection like what petrol does...
so...compartive power output is the same as petrol...ie i cant tell the difference...+plus mpg has shot up on gas compared to just stock car ecu + aeb lpg ecu..

oh..if you not got..get knock control..very usefull..espically when tuning..

Sounds like an awesome setup you have zen, must be great to get a complex setup like that dialed in and have it really performing. Props to you mate :)

Regards knock control, yeah my eyes opened when I noticed that at the bottom of the megatune screen.

Basically, does it dynamically control the advance and also base the cruising mixture on it??

re knock control..

it controls the spark advance..backs it off till gone then advances it either to it reappears and then drops it off...then advances it etc...

or drops it off till gone then down awee bit and keeps it there..both settings, aggressive and safe reset after tps map change etc..

i have fitted unit from philip..(extraefi .uk based did the base code in ms with others..his name all over ms main site)using the stock sensors..its really only as a saftey as i have tried to dial in spark maps so dont get pinking under any circumstance..but i am running water/meth injection which really helps on petrol..but just incase it runs out/get bad fuel etc i have added knock control..

re criusing mixture..that can be altered accuratly by the ms as you poddle along..aslong as you have wb lambda..I ASSUME YOU HAVE? (will work with narrow band lambdas, but you try tuning it!!no hope) it has ego control which will alter injection pw up to a percentage you dial in.thus covering minor discrepances in your fueling/spark maps due to fuel temp changes etc..just as stock ecu does..

i am using tuner studio not megatune..

also surprised at 1200 yours didnt come with..
