More panels finished can now get the Tub squared up and bolted to the chassis
I've been watching this build with interest and I can do most things with a spanner but my painting is not great. Last time I sprayed a bonnet of a car the orange peel effect was horrible. Any tips on mixing the lacquer and spraying techniques to avoid it?

I'd like to tell you how to spray ! But all I do is stir the paint and hold the air line so it's not touching anything or a trip hazard. Its a fine line between orange peal and a worse thing a run.
On larger panels they are Buffed with compound to get the best glass finish

It's difficult to articulate my admiration for your work. The attention to detail is marvellous and your wife's choice of colour looks to be stunning, although I am looking forward to seeing the vehicle images out in the natural light. The paint looks very deep and I suspect that the final look, with the possible exception of the black roof, will be stunning.

This is surely a LR for a show car. I can't imagine doing all that work and then driving it on a muddy road. Wonderful work and thanks for all of the images.

Have you recorded the number of hours on the project build to date?

Hi Alan
The car will be the wife's daily driver and will unlikely to go off road.
Hours wise I go and do a few hrs most nights and weekends, ( The hours are immaterial anyway as its for my wife ). But its not just on the 90 I help on my brother in laws projects to pay for the space and help he gives me

Seat box alignment sorted Tub squared up things should progress this week as I have a bit of time free

I normally mix 2k clear coat: 2 parts clear coat to 1 part hardener and then 10% thinners, best not to try for a mirror finish from the gun but use a process called wet flat and polishing once its dried. Carefully sand it with 2000 grit wet and dry then use an electric mop with it G3 then G10 cutting/finishing compound

No don't want stainless to start any corrosion issues, the bolts that are seen will be painted. The ones not seen are greased and sprayed with Dinatrol.
Transmission tunnel and cab rear sliding window fitted today, floor panels mocked up ready for paint. bottom dash fitted.
