Thanks to everyone who has given me positive comments and some very very helpful advice.
We are all experts in own own field, ask me to go and look at a horse for you, ride it etc and I know my stuff.
Ask me to look at a house and find the pitfalls etc, no problem i have a degree in this.
I am fairly confident with cars, having owned my MX5 for a while and had it in bits a few times I am confident I know my stuff there,
As for posting "what to look for" before I brought it, it appears the standard reposnse is do some searching on the forum before asking questions. so I did and checked the suspension worked as it should, heaters etc. - everything has come to light after no more than 200miles.
Yes I should have noticed a mullered CV joint, and a repair to the exhaust which was well hidden.
The car on the whole appreared great, everything worked as it should, body work and interior looked mint. Fully valeted inside and out (hence no indication of oil leaks etc), just been fully aligned, hence it drove ok, All the suspension worked as it should, havent got time to sit next to it for hours watching if it deflated. The car came with a wad of history and he stated his cars carry a full inspection.
What wasnt to like, and yes I may have thought to myself in an hours time I will be the owner of a range rover, do you not think I am kicking myself alot at the moment. There was one more local to me and I was going to view it 1st but for once I thought on the face of it they are the same car. makes sense to look at the cheaper one at 5k and save myself a grand over the local one at 6k.
Yes I may not be a higher mortal like Dibs but I am only human and humans make mistakes, I have made a few crap life decisions.
At the moment I have a screwed car,
A son that I havent seen for months because my nut job of an ex has decided I am not seeing him, (she lost the plot once I got married last year) wont give a reason for not letting me see him, other than his is tired ofter a weekend with me, well maybe thats because I do stuff with him not sit about whilst he plays on a computer, but she has got a doctor on her side so at the moment I am screwed there as well.
Oh and finally, a dad that has been suffering depression and a drink problem - has been doing well but slipped up and turnes to me for him.
Rant over!!!!
Can I say that the emails / calls members have sent me have been a real help, some great advice and general keep you chin up lad kind words which at the moment as you can see I am in need of.
