Thanks to everyone who has given me positive comments and some very very helpful advice.
We are all experts in own own field, ask me to go and look at a horse for you, ride it etc and I know my stuff.

Ask me to look at a house and find the pitfalls etc, no problem i have a degree in this.

I am fairly confident with cars, having owned my MX5 for a while and had it in bits a few times I am confident I know my stuff there,

As for posting "what to look for" before I brought it, it appears the standard reposnse is do some searching on the forum before asking questions. so I did and checked the suspension worked as it should, heaters etc. - everything has come to light after no more than 200miles.

Yes I should have noticed a mullered CV joint, and a repair to the exhaust which was well hidden.

The car on the whole appreared great, everything worked as it should, body work and interior looked mint. Fully valeted inside and out (hence no indication of oil leaks etc), just been fully aligned, hence it drove ok, All the suspension worked as it should, havent got time to sit next to it for hours watching if it deflated. The car came with a wad of history and he stated his cars carry a full inspection.

What wasnt to like, and yes I may have thought to myself in an hours time I will be the owner of a range rover, do you not think I am kicking myself alot at the moment. There was one more local to me and I was going to view it 1st but for once I thought on the face of it they are the same car. makes sense to look at the cheaper one at 5k and save myself a grand over the local one at 6k.

Yes I may not be a higher mortal like Dibs but I am only human and humans make mistakes, I have made a few crap life decisions.

At the moment I have a screwed car,
A son that I havent seen for months because my nut job of an ex has decided I am not seeing him, (she lost the plot once I got married last year) wont give a reason for not letting me see him, other than his is tired ofter a weekend with me, well maybe thats because I do stuff with him not sit about whilst he plays on a computer, but she has got a doctor on her side so at the moment I am screwed there as well.

Oh and finally, a dad that has been suffering depression and a drink problem - has been doing well but slipped up and turnes to me for him.

Rant over!!!!

Can I say that the emails / calls members have sent me have been a real help, some great advice and general keep you chin up lad kind words which at the moment as you can see I am in need of.

I actually said I'm not a higher being. We've all got problems. Take Jay-Z for instance, he had 99 problems but a P38 ain't one. The point I'm getting across is dealers are clowns especially ones that trade from their drive and have their 'mechanic' check cars out. You've got to rinse these mother Hubbard's old school!. I'm sorry to hear about your problems however as you may have gathered I have little sympathy for these sort of situations as they are easily avoided. It's Dids not Dibs!. Let this be a massive lesson to you and that people giving hugs and kisses don't lead to you making the same mistake again. I'm not angry, just disappointed.

Check me out being a Senior Member now. I'm like Teflon baby...pching.....pching.....pching.

Dids, my only comment is. If you have nothing helpful to add to my thread then dont bother commenting.

Cheers

Oh no she didn't!. My advice is don't pay dollar dollar bills y'all for write offs. If I'd have started this thread I would have expected plenty of members telling me I should have gone to Specsavers. Take the rough with the smooth.

Newbie or whatever, I cannot see how slagging / pointing out the obvious helps the situation.

I started the thread asking for help, and help is what 99% of the member gave me. Yes I am a **** for letting my heart ultimatly rule, I dont mind telling myself that but I dont appreciate a complete stranger to basically tell me. Would you walk up to a stranger in the street whome you have never met and tell them that??

I dont join the forum to be riddiculed, i joined for help and advice on a vehicle I am new to.

Thats your big mistake.
Firstly yu have posted on a public forum
secondly you have asked for comments
thirdly the members vary from the highly articulate and inteligent to BoB
fourthly if yu ask for comments you have to accept the response
fifthly - we all get ridiculed - some more than others
sixthly - the usual response is "if yu dont like it - foo cough"

and this is Landyzone - :googleit: it

Some times pointing out the obvious is just what is needed. If I thought someone was being a prize pillock in the street actually yes I'd tell em. Got one as a nieghbor :D
99% help is not bad :D
You gotta learn to roll with the punches a bit more.
Most folk on here don't mean to cause offence and those that do you can always shoot:violent: erm virtually that is :D

Come on Keith you have seen me and J how the bloody hell would we get under your desk? One thing to take from this is beware of things wrapped in expensive coverings and gold ribbons. I find after getting all excited on christmas morning that the expensive wrappings usually contain the same old socks and underpants i get every year. We may like to say we learn but really we never do.

I'm ashamed of what I may have done to this thread and can only apologise fellow members.

Apoligies on my part if I seem overly stressed at the moment, I am generally a chilled out person.

Having a bad few weeks especially when a clown of a trader has my money and I have his shiney turd sat on my drive.
