This is epic.

Good shout on tubbing/removing arches, they just aren't big enough for full flex, even on 33s

Sooooooooooooooooo.....

I didnt get the cutting done today due to having a clear out and taking stuff for scrap etc. Also we need the ramp to do an engine change in a van so had to get the body off it.
So only option was the chassis! Wasnt going to fit too easy though:

So after some chopping we got it lowered down a bit wonky but some shuffling got it on there:

Soooooooo day one of the Mikey-thon begins:

Start of by sill removal:

Which caused a small fire!

More dust than metal coming off:

Air chisel:

Rusty bits coming off:

Starting the rear tubbed arches:

Smiler!

Beading:

Coming together:

And for scale:

To be continued!

Thanks guys. I know it wont be the most extreme or capable Disco but its how i want it. Ive been moaned at about its all pointless without bobtailing it which is fine but they dont look right to me. If i wanted an all out mental off roader id have built something 90 shaped. For me its having it how id like it and knowing i can still go out and play. Im guestimating 10 days of updates coming so, A) its gonna cost me a feckin fortune, and B) theres a lot more to come!

Full size/weight discos are never going to beat a bob/tray/chopped disco or a basic 90 in low traction conditions, but the full body disco also looks proper and is very good at what it does best - it is large!

this is great for sleeping in, its the ideal green lane weekender, i sue mine as an offroad motorhome!

the extent of custom work you are doing is superb, i mean, who thought of tubbing the arches instead of just lifting the body 10" ?!

huge bodylift is awful for handling and means you cant fit down tight lanes, this is just superb!

Looking better with each post, I am with you with making it what you want, its your car and your money so do what the hell you like with it. Yours looks like it will be more capable than mine will when its finished. Keep the pics coming :D

Cant wait see what you do with them front arches as mine afe in same condition so ideas pending.
