Despite the water coming half way up the doors, no water came in the Freelander.

and no, the doors did not fall off in the water or any any point. :D

I have loads more to chose from. But these will do for the time being. :lol:
 
I took it for its MOT last week. Passed with flying colours. No advisories. No pre-MOT checks done either. :D
 
i have fitted these to my Freelander at the weekend:





So far no complains from on-coming traffic. They have a special coating on them to help prevent dazzle to on-coming traffic. I went for the white ones, rather than blue tint. (5000k).

Just need to drill a 25mm hole through the back of the grey caps now. I looked at getting spares, but at £28ish +VAT each, I'll look for some second hand ones.

The bulbs are a straight swap. there are 2 spade/cables that connect to the H7 connector. The rest just clips together. You then have to find somewhere to mount the ballasts in the engine bay.

Very simple to fit. The hardest bit will be drilling a 25mm dia hole through the grey headlight covers. Then just fit the grommet through the hole and all is finished.

I haven't done it yet, as I wanted to make sure I was happy with them, and on-coming traffic was happy with them, before drilling, as they are £28ish +VAT to replace!!!
 
It's not brilliant, but it is really. It was raining and it was a damp road. The sort of conditions that absorb light. So, actually, it is pretty good.

I'm happy.



 
My interior & exterior temp gauge display went funny, so I have taken it out and refitted the clock and sent back for refund.

I have ordered a different one from Amazon, just need to find somewhere to fit it.

My locking wheel cap tool has worn out so decided to order a new set of wheel nuts & locking wheel nuts as well to tidy things up.

Also waiting for some rock sliders to turn up.

Then there is the Diesel Rhino for the engine. By all accounts it is good stuff. That will go in the next tankful.

Then there is the pesky little interior lighting problem. A 10amp fuse keeps blowing, and I have a feeling it has something to do with the passenger visor vanity light. Every time my wife flips open the lid, it blows the fuse. Need to look at that when it isn't raining.

Overall it is going very well.

Yes, pretty easy to fit. The hardest part was taking out the metal bungs for the long arms at the back.

I wasn't sure if I should have taken off the sill protector along the length of the bottom of the sill or not. I left it in place, just taking off the jacking point covers.

I thought it would have 2 bolts for the front mount, but could only fit one as there wasn't enough movement in the sliders to get both on.

I held it in place using my bottle jack so I could line up everything.

All fitted from scratch in 2 hours, from getting the sliders out of the shed to putting away everything.

I ended up grinding down the excess bolt thread on the bolts sticking up into the rear footwell.

Oh, and having the lift and large tyres meant that I didn't need to jack the car up for access.
 
I left the sill covers on (except jacking point cover).....you can get two bolts in the front, it's just a bit tricky. :)
