He had the vehicle for 2 months :/ I didn't push him! Said he could take as long as he needed as I wanted a good job done!
ok, so what time did he actually spend on it?

sills, mounts, rear arches, boot floor, rear arches, rear mounts, plus fettling to make good usually takes me between 40 - 60 hours. roughly a good week. (inc soft strip- upholstery, seats etc)
i'm not professional at it, hobbyist/enthusiast and work on time and materials.

I stripped wings bonnet doors interior dash board etc etc and cut out all the metal in drivers side footwell.

The mounts he didn't spend any time on and again with the sills I'd already cut out the old sill on one side, supplied the box section so it was a case of welding it in one side and cutting away some of the old sill the other side, regarding boot floor he didn't have to do the whole floor I bolted in the rear floor when I repaired it so all he had to do was unbolt the floor cut out the old edges and weld new edges in which he quoted me £100 for to fabricate and fit then tried to patch it all.

Fook me thats death waiting too happen.he aint no pro only in bull****. and obviously doesnt care he could put someone at risk.my soldering looks stronger than that.they need to cut his hands of so he cant weld again. i say weld loosely.

I think your selling urself a bit cheap. £100 a day, minus tax at 20%, so £240 for the 3 days less NI.

Less than £250 quid in your pocket, plus welding overheads.

I pay tax and ni when I sell bumpers and light and the like as it has a paper trail.
Pay cash me in cash = no vat on the work
I have the same deal with some of my suppliers If I pay cash = no vat

You have to offer something in the hard times to get customers in spending money.

you sure you should be saying things like that on an open forum???

mr migs a con man at least dick turpin wore a mask, don't know how he can sleep at night, i wouldn't dare return a customers vehicle with welding like that its a disgrace.
he should pack in a get a job stacking shelves

an Ex classic car restoration welder had a look at yo thread and said he'd cut better welding out to re do it!! Reason yo door wont close is the child lock lever's catching should be an indent so it misses the arch!

Do u have a one man vendetta against him it seems youve posted in nearly every section of the forum, I think one freds enough dont u
Of course he has a 1 man vedetta against him, wouldnt you?.
I would post on every forum going if i paid that much for that shody work.

Thats one big F uppped welding job .The man wants a total ban on welding any motors..Is he running from a proper workshop or doing it on his drive ?..Whatever thats one terrible job

Me being stoopid:)
That's horrific! It's still an mot failure! There's still holes in prescribed areas! Repair panels should be fitted the same as the originals or seam welded, again mot failure! That's before you even get on to the subject of weld quality, I suspect you could just pull some of his repairs off!
He hasn't got a leg to stand on, it hasn't been done to mot standard which isn't particularly high anyway! Take it for an mot all stripped out and ask them to pull it to pieces on the welding. Then wave the failure in front of the CAB, Trading Standards, Judge, whoever, cos its an official document saying he's not done his job to the minimum safety requirements of an MOT!

Is there any update on this anyway ?

Did he take the ####wit to court ?

No was just about to apply last night, before I wen't out however did some googling and thought I'll leave some feedback on one of his online listings...

GUESS WHAT - that evening at 12.30 he came to the house and smashed 2 windows one on my disco 2 and one on my transit, nothing stolen, obviously just a 'message' to warn me off?
