Hi MrNasty,
the vibration comes in between 50 to 60 MPH, both in a straight line and when turning. To me the vibration resembles something like a UJ that once went on an old Austin Cambridge I had. I have changed the front prop for a new one. My Landy guy stripped and checked the front Diff. We changed wheel bearings, he stripped the cv all appeared to be fine We also swapped his wheels over onto mine, no difference. I have Polly bushes, they all seem OK.
Nothing recieved Mike, have you still got my email address?
Nope, I have jacked it up and ran the motor with gears engaged and the wheels ran true. Plus I have ran it with a different set of wheels on it. It doesn't feel like a wheel wobble or tracking type of vibration. If you have driven a car with a UJ on the prop gone you will know what I mean, it's more like that.Still sounds like a wheel wobble. I have it on this 90 smack between 50-60.
Doesn't look like we can make it this march.....
I'm not finished yet.Hmmm, shame, I'm still going
What have you done to try and resolve it so far? Is the system over pressurising? Water problems on a 200 tdi are normally quiet rare. I recently changed the rad and heater Matrix on mine. It still had the original ones on from 1990. Doubt the new ones will last as long.Well I will make a final call when I get back from USA in February, I still have a list of things that have to get resolved (bring back Larry) and if I get these done I will go, but its 50/50. At worse I'd rather break down somewhere in Europe than Morocco because I'll get back free, so I may replan for somewhere else if I can't get the water issue (no puns please) resolved.
Oh now that does sound interesting very !I may he interested in this, planning mongolia for this time next year so morroco would be a nice little trip to keep the expeditions going
Don't worry Ken, with your navigation they would have no chance of finding you, or finding there way back.Must remember to camp well out of site and use a tree branch to wipe out the tyre tracks in the sand.
I'm hoping I can be with you. My 110 is in the respray shop at the moment and has been for two weeks. I dropped round there the other day, they have hardly done anything, just removed the lights and snorkel.I'm fed up with this cold weather and just want to get lost there again with my trusty 60csx.
No we did not - but then James you were leading most of the way. With you on the tyre front - put Discoverer STT tyres on.We didn't get lost, did we Ken? I don't recall, we got round some of the route pretty quickly I remember.
