Impressive toy Joe. Not my thing, but impressive;).
I like old stuff myself. If I could I'd have a 4" scale Burrell traction engine.
Like this one.

don't know if this means anything , but my brother has two mammod , if that's how it's spelt , think it used white spirit , kerosine

been in there boxes for over 30 years , still stored in my parents loft

think it has like a canopy , know he got it soon after he was born and that was 1963

know he's also got model train carriages and engines all still in there boxes , they must be at least 40 years old

I sold it to up grade to a TR6 which I enjoyed much more. Partly due to finding a great garage that was able to service the TR6 properly. the guy really knew his business

They would get banned now hehehe!
I remember setting the lounge carpet on fire in the early 70's with a Meth one.
I've still got one that I got in the early 80's, boilers rotted out so it's just an ornament.

Very nice :)

My Vitesse was LKX 8 H. When I sold it I almost bought a Stag - but found out how much the insurance was and got a Dolimite 1850HL instead. I bought that off a mate who had crashed it. My uncle straightened it out and put a replacement engine in - then I went and crashed it a couple of weeks later!

So onto another "guess the model".... After I crashed the Dolie, I drove a Mini Clubman Traveller for a while. It wasn't mine, I borrowed it from this girl. Any one remember who it is? I'm pretty sure she was never a Bond Girl! She never made it quite as big as the other "big" glamour girls of the 80's.

I did say the pic of the car was in "Waikouaiti"! I lived in Dunedin for 2 years in the mid 70s's.

We then moved to Warlingham Surrey. Just down the valley from Warlingham was David Sullivan's (West Ham owner) porn empire HQ/sleazy warehouse. This girl is a Warlingham local and did quite a bit of work for him in "Parade" - as well as on the 3rd page of a well known National!

Ive got the mamod te1a personally, not fired it for a few years now but it's on a shelf waiting to go at any time, looking at buying the steam train they do as well sooner or later, mammod now do a gass conversion tank to replace the fire tray solid fuel ones.

Ze germans produce the Wilesco traction/stationary engines, a bit more complex and more detailed ( worm gears and chains on steering like the real things) so are a bit more
expensive than mamod

loved my vitesse , 2 litre with the four headlights , was great being able to lift the bonnet up and sitting on the tyre whilst working on the engine , also had a dolomite 1850 and my brother and I bought a sprint, oh dear what a mistake that was with the 16 valves cyl head

had to replace a few gearboxes , clutches , but was a good learning curve

then we had a 2.5 pi , we was repairing it more than on the road, still adored the triumph range though , lovely dashboards , comfortable , not much to the gallon though , lol

Doh !, I missed the 'hidden meaning', I thought you meant the UK "Waikouaiti" - a small ex mining community outside Barnsley........ very close to the village of 'WaiKuLukinAtMeTwat' . ??? !!!!:eek:
I am surprised Skinny Mike didn't get it as there was a whippet in the image that you first posted that ran off.....:D

That lass has got the wrong gun to be a Bond girl - was she a SPECTRE operative? [Gun should be a Walther PPK]

Anyway seeing as you lot like older motors here's a couple of mine from BC [before ch'n!]
Yes a '73 Rover 3.5 litre Coupé [P5B]
and...

and again a '73 P6B 3500S
I was defo' young and foolish running to V8s at the same time - I thought I was broke then - then along came the ch'n. And now G ch'n!

I love the P5B, always have.
P6 is an ugly pig imho.
Me old dad stuck a diesel in a p5 around 1977 I think, also stuck one in a ford Capri, Austin a60 van, and various mk1 transits.
I always thought the p5 looked customised as standard, lovely interior too but always thought the analogue clock was in a strange place, way over on the passenger side iirc?

Yeah that clock was in an odd place! the P5B was comfy and very quiet to drive and went well too. It was not so pleasant at speed and used to float or wallow a bit on the road not very precise at all. The P6BS went very well and rode a lot better. It was noisier, but not by a lot.

I've owned six Rovers in all. My First was a '62 3 litre Mk 1A [ I also bought a '59 3 Litre Mk 1 to wreck], then the P5B coupe. Next the P6BS, after that a P6B 3500 [UK import]. My last Rover I sold last year. A 2003 Rover 25 NIGHTMARE! Grrrr I cost a fortune in repairs - 2 HG and 3 very expensive CVT repairs - the last put it off the road.
