Short term it does sometimes work, not my idea of anything other than an emergency get you home fix.I can't see how that ever works, exhaust gases will always blow it out, surely?

Home-made pipe clamps = 4x pieces of 1/4"ply and 2 mole grips. (30x15mm)
You're looking to deprive the vaporiser of coolant flow... also do the return to ensure no back-flow from system.
Do you realise how much insurance value you are sitting on if you happen to have a faulty Xenon light ballast?
Yes.we are going outside my realm of understanding. Will make some calls on Monday with this information (thank you). One of the main things I can gather is cut the LPG off and run it on petrol.
Yes.
How much money have you managed to spend whilst not buying the 2 bottles of snake oil?
You only get points for doing the PCV valve IF the people you paid also changed out the oh so squidgy and undersized drain from the cyclonic separator to sump....a lot more then two bottles unfortunately. Did three ignition coils and pcv valve. My issue now is, putting in the juice prior to selling may not be the best option for leaking vaporiser seal, and if I try it and it doesn’t work. Will see on Monday.
The LPG is the best thing about the car
A compression test would be a good idea. Sorting the rings if it is they that are at fault is not such a bad job, don't even need to lift the heads on the engines I've worked on.One more thing
a mechanic has assumed after revving the engine that it is the piston rings at fault as he believes oil is going into the piston rings and hence the blue/black/white smoke coming out and misfire.
Im shocked that he was able to diagnose that by just revving it.
Not sure what it is and mechanics just talk rubbish! But if it is the piston rings this car is doomed perhaps?

If the compression test is OK, I somehow doubt it's the rings.Compression test was fine
Piston rings Iv been told full engine rebuild and thousands of pounds

A garage would tell you that, they like to raid your wallet.
It could even be a leaking petrol injector. Certainly I would shut off the LPG system to eliminate it as a cause of your problems.one thing to try is to switch off the gas emulator and run it entirely on petrol to see if the misfire and smoke remains.
my LPG mechanic said it could be that the petrol and gas are burning together?

Sorry, I don't know how to turn off the LPG system.By lifting the lid and taking the fuse out? Will try to figure out how to do this tomorrow
Did you sell this in the end?I will check them at the garage tomorrow.
Seems to be getting worse, might be the heat but it’s making a loud whirling noise from the engine.
