Was prompted ta put up this ere poll to try un find out the truth behind the Discovery. Naturally this poll is fer D1 and D2 only, as D3 and D4 are completely different vehicles, and much betterer anyways.

Disco 1 & 2 .... proper axles, most people get 60,000 miles to a set of tyres, and some get a lot more

My chum bought a Disco 3 TDv6
He was buying two new front tyres every 10~12,000 miles, and the rear tyres scrubbed off the edges in no time. It spent as much time in the dealer as it did on the road, and they NEVER got the suspension adjusted properly.

So he sold it.

I still have my Disco TD5.

I got to Say im not Much Of A disco Fan But ive grown pretty fond of them :) they are good Yokes...... ALl though LAnd Rover Defender 110 Snatch "89" FTW!

About 7 grand to you mr hippo :p you know how heavy she weighs....
Would yer consider taking ma hippo as a px?

2001 Freelander series 1 v6, 28k miles, 3 years main dealer service history and the rest done properly by me, taxed till feb, mot till feb.

Perpared ta go as low as £3k plus yer tratter in exchange fer ma hippo. :D

well at least you can get into a Hippo after the doors self-open.

My Disco doors have all four broken those damned springs, so none of the doors open except the driver's door from the outside with the key.

And I thought you had a D2 as "the springs" is only a D1 issue.

Well, mines an oldie.D1.But its got considerably less gadgets, sensors and other gowrongables to worry about. It also looks the part/more capable than more modern gear.Just dont like the look of newer stuff.
Even though i`ve had mine four years, i`ll still stop and stare at it sometimes.Awesome.
Chugging about off road, runs to the tip, carrying shed loads of gear.Smug look on my face when i pick up a large item from currys and dont need to pay delivery, shipping family about in comfort.Whats not to like.
I would never have afforded it new, but the owner from new likely never off roaded it.Now in its twilight years it gets loads of what its built for.
At some point i want a tax exempt series vehicle, but there`ll always be a place for my disco.
