Am I the only one who actually likes Freelanders?

Nope, not at all.
I had a Freelander 2 a few years ago and pushed it to its absolute limits and then some at Parkwood 4x4 on a very wintery Sunday in February.
I've no doubt the frozen solid ground aided its way around the site that day, but they're not as incapable as what people think.
Think I'm taking the ****? Have a look at these:

Not sure the owner of this Disco will thank me for these next 2 pics if he's on here, but you did provide some quality entertainment for us that day. :D

Ps; if the chap holding the video recorder in the 1st pic is on this forum (You WILL remember that scene...) or anyone knows him, please get in touch. I'd love to see the video of me scrambling up that hill...

I have got the best photo of you hauling your ass out of the pond you jumped into.

Oh happy days, if only I hadn't parked on a lump I'd have it all on film.

Where is the poor mans Defender option?

I want a Defender but can't afford one, so have to make do with a lesser product :(

That'll be the 'Thinkin mans Tratter' option, but you've just ruled yourself out of going for that one:doh:

Just tick the 'BoB is gay' option;)

A thinking man wouldn't buy a disco 1 or 2:confused:

Dr. Clarkson may have a point about them being owned by murderers.

My own opinion, for what it's worth, is that the D1 and D2 are "everymans" cars. By that I mean that you can turn up anywhere in a reasonable condition and close to standard example without being either looked down on or assumed to be some sort of snob.

Royal Ascot? The Ritz? A building site? The local mucky pub? It doesn't matter.

My own job as a Draughtsman means that I have to meet, mingle and communiate with people from most social strata and the D2 I drive never looks out of place or gets any sort of contemptuous look from anyone. Like me, it is a good mixer.

Freelanders are the same. In a Freelander you arrive as opposed to turn up. They can mix at all levels and attend any event without looking out of place.

Was prompted ta put up this ere poll to try un find out the truth behind the Discovery. Naturally this poll is fer D1 and D2 only, as D3 and D4 are completely different vehicles, and much betterer anyways.

ah bless , good to see deep down u like the D3s,, ;):D:D
