If he has been welding for 60 years it is likely to look like piped cream and perfect.
Take the fusebox out and check the back of it for green gunge ...Having booked the MOT the ACE warning light is nopw playing an intermittent game.
First thing in the morning, or anytime I get in it, it comes on, then, on the second or thrid start it goes out. So it seems to be a damp or heat-related fault.
But today it can't make its mind up. Tried removing and replacing both the relay and the fuse under the bonnet. Eventually it goes out.
Put the Foxwell on it, it keeps saying the same things. Whether it isworking or not.
Not sure which way to turn.
Replace fusebox under the bonnet?
Replace ACE fluid actuator thingy on the other thingy attached to the chassis? (Forgive my lack of technical terms, CBA to find them out at the mo.)
I always did say that if the ACE played up seriously I would replace the whole thing with a standard anti-roll bar set up. But that isn't cheap. AT ALL.
And as it is raining yet again I don't fancy trying to take the fuebox out to give it a look-see and maybe clean it up and waterproof it.
Especially as it may not be a damp issue after all. But then "dry joints" usually fail when the connection gets warm don't they? Not improve their current flow?
Jeezo I hate electronics!
as you can see, I did want to do that but wasn't going to do it with the rain pouring down.Take the fusebox out and check the back of it for green gunge ...

I haven't done this before so am slightly trepidated as I hate flipping around with loads of electrical connections to big boards.
I am going to have to assume that they are designed so I can't get the connections mixed up, and I'll take pics as I go.
But thatnks for the advice.
Happy Birthday to M and soon to be you I'm all ways a toy boyAfternoon folks .
Not much to report really.
We did pick up our new driving license's and all the correct boxes were ticked, M even got a couple more . So we are good for another 5yrs.
The temps are all over the place at the moment, we didn't light the fire a couple of days last week it was that warm.
M has caught me up last week in years but it wont last long before the gap goes back to normal again. So we will be going to the best fish restaurant in town soon that serves the best venison in town, pretty good fish too.
Sent M some links for my birthday present today.

1 month and 10 days for me.Me too, by 8 years!!!
I am affeared that a TD5 fusebox will be a lot more complex then a 300tdi one due to the very complex electrics on these vehicles.I did a Disco 300TDi, but took pick, labeled wires with masking tape and scribble ...
Did a cheat sheet using the lid diagram as a guide ...
Worked great after resoldering the defective bits ...
Evening folks
Flicking through to try and find a film to watch tonight and a song line sang out as we moved to the next.
So the next 20mins we went from finding it and then remembering how great some musicians are.
So we went from this. After hearing the first line of the tune.
To this. Cos it’s great listening.
Still bring goosebumps.

As you say not too difficult to repair, the funny viscous drive thingy is well known nowadays and easy to fix.Says clutch is the issue and the fancy AWD/4WD system seems to be sus.
Nothing about it being a problem with it being petrol.
But there is more than £500 in spares if you have the time to break it, which may not be a bad thing to do

Maybe she is bothered about whatever seems to be hanging from a roof joist!Dont think so just put it up cause we were on about vw dubs the other day. Tbh I didnt see marge
