Oofft 3 stories.what kind of tower are you thinking, for that height we never go higher that 2 with the alloy tower
they aways sway about, better with a proper scaffold or a nifty lift if you have access. 3 story scaffold will need to be
secured to the building.
Glad you said that!
I sometimes have to get on the central roof of our frog place, I borrow a 5 metre ladder with specially wide stabilising things at the bottom, and that is easily high enough for me to go up! No wonder it is illegal now more or less!

Weather sunny down here.
Friends from Normandy had planned a trip to Paris when the storm was going to come over, so went a day early as the trains were going to be cancelled.
Had a great time and showed us a pic of a Breton bird that had got blown to Paris!
Their place survived fine.
So a big phew!
Have a good day folks!

...that I was asked to lift that patio window back in. :(
Apparently the new doors are not now coming on Monday and in fact they don't know when they are coming.

So my lad bought a new set of runners which arrived last night and he asked me to help him fit them this morning.
He had a pair of new roller/runners but he insisted on only replacing the obviously broken one on the one end/side.
After the the 3rd in/out of this ruddy sliding frame because it wouldn't slide left-right I called a halt and said:

"I've had enough Son. Just because the other one turns under finger pressure without the weight of this 300lb door on it doesn't mean it turns fine when loaded, change the effing thing."

Reluctantly he replaced the other roller assembly. Job jobbed. Door slides just fine.

Came home and took the regulation painkillers for my back.

OH, and he tells me that he and 'er are splitting up after 11 years and 2 kids because she's a spendthrift and prefers her 2 dogs to him and he's had enough. His kids will be devastated, but there you go. :(

Me squirrel eatid the second blueberry where eye left it. But only arf. Din't spot the first one disappearing earlier. Earlier in he sniffed them a few times and went pft wiv nuts. Eye popped oot to cut one in arf ferrim and he was already there. Shot up the fence and over the garage. Eye stopped and stayed still when eye realised but he may have seen me wivva knife.

Glad you got the door sorted in the end.
Shame about the rest of it, but if she really doesn't care for him, nor he for her than prolly best in the long run.
Hopefully they are still young enough to make a fresh start and they don't use the kids in any divorce battle. Best of luck with it all. :( :( :(

Could they go through some sort of mediation to see if they can settle their differences.

I would really like that, but the boy's an "avoider" and doesn't stick up for himself so would be likely to be browbeaten into doing other than what he really wants. It is hard (as an outsider) to stand in the middle and offer offer objective advice without being accused of "taking sides" you are damned either way. He's let her run the show for a long time and has given in always, but the arrival of 2 dogs he didn't want and her insisting they can share their bed and him getting to step in puddles of poo & pee in his own bedroom in the middle of the night has somewhat soured his view of his importance in the grand scheme of things I think. :(

👍 dead right with that with alloy with outrigers you don't want more than 6mts as you cannot work on it for holding on and a squeaky bottom dont help

I'm going to stick my neck out here a bit.
Mediators I would imagine, have a lot of experience of both halves of a couple being downtrodden and brow beaten. Both the females and the males. I don't think they'd be much cop at the job if they weren't.
If one half of the couple is willing to go to mediation and the other half isn't then there is no point in doing it.

There, my fourpence-worth, having been there done that as it were.
As before best of luck with it all.
