Guid morn
Good weekend, this despite a frikin head cold, sore throat n runny nose, since Tuesday, geez.
And on top of that did a bit of gardening on Friday and got a cut under the nail on my thumb, well sore.
Looks like Ive picked up an infection as its swollen and throbbing (unlike another part of my anatomy !)
Still another spectacular day weather wise.
My daughters Renfrew u/16 team beat Athena Glasgow yesterday and my daughter got man (girl) of the match.
And today she is playing guitar at the Renfrew Gala day in Robertson Park (local jocks will know where) So proud father.
Kinda quiet on the forum, what r u all up to ?

I'm just stripping my daughters bedroom out to be re-plasterboarded & skimmed (walls & ceiling) & got to fit some extra sockets in, only has one double! This was our sons bedroom which we had done when he was about 12, now 32 so about time it was redone although it's a shame to get rid of the art work which was done by a local artist. Have a good day all.

Eye has been watching the telly program 'once upon a time in northern ireland'. Only seen the first two so far. Eye know a bit about what went on from talking to peeps who lived through it. But it were a shock to see clips recorded at the time of what peeps thought and said. Also how easily peeps fell into taking part in what went on.
By coincidence, when clearing out lots of books this afternoon ( lots from my husband's interest), I have come across this one -
RAF FIGHTER AIR FIELDS of WW2 by Jonathon Falconer.
It is a hard backed book in excellent condition - he probably only looked through it for interest after we had been in Kent - although having resided on a book shelf for many years it does have a generous coating of dust!
Is it of any use to anyone? I am not wanting any fee but it will probably cost £2/3 to post and that cost I would appreciate.

Yesterday was a day of both triumph and despair.
I sorted out the placement of the 5 holes on the drive plate for the pins for the RH wheel. This time I used a calibrated eyeball and it worked much better (IMHO).
Having drilled these out I re-assembled it onto an axle and onto a SA 90mm drum hub and proceeded toruin bastardise adapt the hub shell.
I drilled the first hole gingerly and was relieved that it seemed to go OK and it popped through the other side of the hub-spoke.
I used another 3.25mm drill-bit as a locator peg to lock the drive plate in place and the drilled the next hole (like doing up a 5-stud mounted wheel; do one, miss-one) in the same fashion.
Once I had 2 holes and the central axle shaft as locators I used an appropriately sized transfer punch as another locator peg.
I swapped the locator peg positions around until all 5 spokes wereruined had holes in them.
I was going to do a second wheel but the drive plate would not co-operate and insisted on being threaded "off-square" so it had to go in the scrap bin and I will have to make another.
Not today I hasten to add as my quota of shed-time is all used up for a Saturday and I need to go play the part of dutiful husband.
Sunday:
escaped the guard and snuck off to my workspace.
I have managed to make the other drive-plate and I even got the thread cut OK, but I had to go really old-school to cut the thread.
This little lathe is definitely too small, I may have to look for a bigger, better one. :LOL:
Tomorrow I will mark out the spots for the holes to be made in the drive plate andruin adapt another SA90 hub shell.
The 5 tiny M4 (4mm) studs that will transfer the torque from the drive plate to the hub shell do look rather small but when I look online I see that an M4 bolt will hold a 150Kg load so maybe it isn't so bad.
After all, the worst that can happen is the wheels fall off.

I agree, there are 5 M4 studs on the drive plate.
