And secondly, if a person with kids is made unintentionally homeless, isn't it the council's duty to house them, be it in B'n'B or whatever? Thinking of the 13yr old.
If the 21 yr old has all these mental problems should she not be in some sort of care where she cannot self-harm herself to death?
Dunno all the ins and outs but I wouldn't want to take the responsibility, except maybe for the 13 yr old.

I agree the 21 YO should be in "safe" independent living quarters because she's not a child, but she continually plays the "baby" and "poor little me" cards. The boy is well balanced and a thoroughly nice lad. If they can settle the older girl then I can manage to house them all even though I don't welcome such an invasion of my home.

Is there no chance of her finding another place to rent in the near future? If she stays put it will take ages, including court orders and bailiffs etc before she can be forced to leave.....that in other "surprise news" the lads lady has been served a notice to quit from her rental in S-on-S and that would render her and her 2 kids homeless. I suspect the landlord has been offered a better deal from the Govt. under operation Scatter.
So, guess where my scheming son thinks they can all pitch up at until they get back on their feet? Go on, have a stab at it!
His lady has a 21YO daughter (not working) who has "needs" and is an attention-seeking suicide precious little flower with every disorder of the noddle you can think of and a boy of 13 who is a really nice lad. I foresee interesting times ahead.
BUT she does have to make sure she is up to date with the rent.
Next year the landlord has to have a very valid reason for chucking her out, the only valid ones will be wanting to move him and/or a close relative INTO the property OR to sell it. Getting a better deal will not be a valid reason. This i prolly why he is doing this now as soon he won't be able to.
I once had to "evict" a pair of tenants who had moved out leaving the property like the Marie Celeste, when I went to court with photographic evidence proving they were absent and had been for ages, the judge refused to accept anything I said, and gave them a month to get out. (He did at least agree they were behind with the rent.)
W has announced that she will be getting rid of the greenhouse and little shed in the UK, as we don't do anymore gardening there and will be replacing them with a bigger shed, which I will be able to have some of!

Similar situation but I wish, this was something like £40 a month extra.
W busy ordering a week's groceries from Ocado for when we get back. Over £200!
Lordy, food is so much cheaper over here! Yet the Frogs are complaining about prices rising and their "pouvoir d'achat".
Plus we will be going back with cool boxes no longer full of cheaper, better quality meat and cheese as both are now illegal to bring into the country.

I was using a broker who I usually use, both times, and can't really work out what's changed in the intervening months. To be fair neither could the person at the other end of the phone, we ran through a few things which he said would make very little difference including that it is a Category N write-off. There must be something I said that they don't like, maybe my 'occupation' which we had to pick something approximate for off a drop-down list.After being with Hastings for a few years they bumped the renewal up by a LOT. Usually I call them and negotiate a better deal but as they were already taking the **** I went with Halifax, ‘Er indoors did the same. At first renewal both premiums dropped by a LOT. First time I’ve ever had that
I said I'd think about it and resorted to online quotes starting with Direct Line - worse, Tesco insurance said 'we can't offer you a policy right now'

Overhead? I thought fibre always went in the ground. Or is it because you is rural, or now that they're turning off copper lines they're just stringing up fibre cables like for like to make it cheap, quick, or even viable?

That's just tit for tat because you can't take meat & dairy the other way due to lack of regulatory alignment....Plus we will be going back with cool boxes no longer full of cheaper, better quality meat and cheese as both are now illegal to bring into the country.

It's all down to the under writer. The peeps the broker is using to gain insurance. Many different reasons. Sometimes nowt to do wiv you. How healthy their current risk portfolio is. If they dun't need the business so much as they're at their limit. They may have changed how they perceive risk. My copper was in the air. They changed it to fibre also in the air. Comes from the nearest wooden pole. Then down into the bt fing in the comms chamber under the ground next to it.
My copper was on overhead line. The fibre also came overhead and was routed to an existing hole on the opposite side of the house to exactly where I wanted it. Done in a couple of hours by one man, no digging or chopping concrete up.
