In another case, (Currys and a non-working vacuum cleaner) they said they wouldn't do anything so, right there in the shop I said to them, "Are you actually refusing to take this item from me?" At which point they backed down and took it off to fix it.
As usual they dragged their feet a bit, so I used an old Hoover.
When they told me it was fixed I went in, and in front of some bemused customers, plugged it in and hoovered a bit of the shop, to test it.
Still got it in the garage for hoovering cars out with.
