We find that once up to temp the heating rarely comes on to top up may be once an hour for 5 minutes. Our costs seem a lot lower than others on here......
Your house must be well insulated then. Our boiler kicks in about every 15 to 20 minutes when the house gets to the set temp. Mind you, it doesnt help having keep opening the door to let the dog in and out.

My central heating engineer advised us to keep it on 'cos that was the best way of conserving fuel - it takes very little to 'tick over' but lots to get a house back up to temperature once it had been allowed to go cold. Even when I go away, I leave the heating on, leaving the temperature set just 3 degrees lower.
 
Eye has just taken a gas meter reading. Eye will check again morra, to see worreye use in 24 hours. Eye is in a race wiv Dan but he dunt know it.

It is, it was one of its selling points when we were looking for a place.
He's only gottid the bottom half ov a house.

This is the reasoning we are operating on and it does work!
