Made a mistake once with a dumpling stew recipe and ended up making meatloaf, but heck it was delish .... number one son had three helpings ...

Can't stand dumplings...Yuk! I have always thought of it as being a cheap filler for empty belly's instead of meat & potatoes.Or use the suet balls to make cheap dumplings

The Fireplace is cast-iron, it was even more ornate to begin with but I cut it up when I had the burner installed. The inner panels are now sitting in the rear corners of the fire recess.Wow, that is a very ornate fireplace! Is it carved slate, or painted wood or wot?
