I meant the Magnaclean ...

How long has it been in ? Have you ever cleaned it out ?

https://manchesterplumbingandheating.co.uk/tutorials/how-to-clean-a-magneaclean/
Ahhhhh... sorry. It has been in since mid September and I have stripped the filter out once so far (some magnetite on the magnetic core but little else in the particulate filter) I was surprised how clean it all was.
We did power-flush shed-loads out of the rads when we did all of them and the TVR installs.
I am going to knock up a straight pipe to insert where the filter currently is and see what happens (can't be worse) :)

....that Octopussy finally is running normally so that I have been able to compare gas and electric consumption with more or less the same time last year.
And the result is that we are using less. about 10% less electric but a lot less on the gas.
However, the latter is so dependent on the weather and temps.
So it sticks mightily in the craw that the damage to the bank account is so much more. :(

Wot temp does yer set yer thermostat too? Does yer heating come on several hours before yer gets up? Does it go oft before or when yer go to bed? These are area's a lot ov peeps can alter to reduce consumption. Just a fort.

Yep already done all this. And continually turning the stat down and valves off.
W just told me that the gubmint has told peeps to turn their boilers down which we both thought was prolly closing the stable door.
Although it is an old system it has quite a fancy, digital controller, for instance I can have different "on/off" times for the weekend and the weekdays, So it comes on just before we get up and off well before we go to bed.

Our lot refuse to take appointments that way they just tell you to call at 8AM and it is a free-for-all, only 8 lines and devil take the hindmost. :(
I'd go totally ape if they said that to me. There would be complaints to the BMA, my MP and any other bugre I could think of. FORCING people to use a phone, and if this was our landline it would cost a lot of money, is ridiculous. This is running a surgery for the convenience of the doctors and staff and not the patients.:mad::mad:
This ought to be against the Hippocratic oath.
I am forever on the verge of changing surgeries for far less than this. W's surgery would take me on, run by just 2 doctors and if she rings them she gets an appt that day if it is urgent or the following day if it isn't.
