And just think your lovely D1 wot you miss so much, never needed anything like this!!!Yer yer it does the noo defender too but I aint buying one.
I'm a bit busy this weekend but I am definitely going to turn the electric off at the consumer unit and have a play. I intend to make up a cable from the thickest cable I can find in my stores with a 3 pin plug at each end. After what others have said I am now thinking I might leave the genny in the garage with the back door open and plug it into the wall plug there. Then see what happens once I plug the other end into the genny and start it. My electric system is one above the old ceramic fusewire holders! Built in the 1980s it has fuses that are cylinders shaped in different sizes and colours. They are bugres to pull out without tools, mind you that may be because the fusebox is positioned in a slightly awkward place for me to access.
All good fun and still a shed load easier than even the easiest loom on a car!
Never seen itAnyone else watched the noo prog, "Find it, fix it, drive it."?
I did and thort it was pretty good.

Just hope it'll eventually tell me what the feck is up with the Disco 2 TD5 when it gets warm.
Changed the split intercooler pipe yessdi but ain't had time to take it out and try to test it. I say "try" cos the problem which is a right pain the bum, only occurs once it gets really warm, so I think it is a problem with the heat of the tranny fluid, not the engine. But I've changed the ATF temp sender and it now is not complaining at all. i.e. no warning light. so, WTF?
I know you miss your D1. From the pics it looked Bramah. (Do you say that in Scotty land?!)
I and W are actoooly working in the utility room now and once that is finally finished I'll be "allowed" to go back to playing on cars. She has also promised to pay for the welding necessary on the DI 300tdi Anniversary. Which is cool! Dying to get back on it. It needs a real deep clean and a sorted headlining. And it hasn't run for a few years now.
As for the D1 V8 LPG. Well, that is a bit of an interesting question. I last had it running just before we left to go to Frogland. I'd have to put it in for an MOT to see how much work it needs but the LPG system deffo needs work for it to get a ticket. It runs brill but cosmetically it won't pass. I'm talking the LPG system now. the local bloke who should give it a ticket is a bit of an old woman, but without it insurance is a pain. I'd love to drive it to France as they support LPG much better over there. Might even reregister it over there.
