I don't think I'd fit in with another rota system it's bad enough remembering to put the bins out for Tuesdays. :rolleyes::)
If only it were as simple as a rota!
We are on "tarif Tempo" which is great cos when on blue days we get cheaper electric than anyone else, both during the day and especially at night.
EDF is allowed to decide when to apply white days and red days, there is a maximum possible number of each and there are far fewer red days than white days and many fewer of either than there are blue day.
They have to warn you beforehand and they cannot do them on weekends, I think or holidays, I think again!
It doesn't work for everyone but it sure works for us and we have halved our electric bills, which is a big deal as we don't have mains gas. But yes electric on white days is more expensive than normal "Tarif Bleu" which most of France is on, and Red days are a bit eyewatering. But as we aren't here during the winter we never see them and it is rare to see white days.
But yes you do have to watch out for it.
It does make you more conscious of all things like this, for instance we never used to bother about putting washing and dishwashing on at night, now we always do.
It is one good thing about France that ALL customers have the cheaper electric at night thing. and you don't need a separate white meter unlike in the UK. :)
You only get one chance at the Tarif Tempo, if you rescind it then want to change your mind, tough, you've had your chance!!:rolleyes:
 
...that I did indeed do another 9.9 mile ride today. YES, I know 9.9 miles is not a long ride. :(
The 10AH battery was used for both rides and so that one battery has managed to help me move 19.8milles. It still was not flat, but I don't like running batteries flat so it is now back on charge.
It proves that just one of the pair of batteries on the carrier on the trike can get me 20 miles, so 2 may get me 40 miles. An overnight charge and then.....off we go again. :)
The battery has in fact just finished charging @ 2.0 Amps in 4 hours (8AH) so that suggests it was 4/5ths depleted. :D
Good to know its likely capacity in real-world usage.

That is a very kind offer @derwendolly and I thank you, but I am awash with high capacity bike batteries.
3 x 10AH packs (on current showing that's 60 miles).
2 x 15AH packs .... Another 60 miles.
1 x 20 AH pack. ..... 40 miles.
Probably enough to get me to wherever I need to go. ;)
They are heavy, because they are lots of little 18650 LiOn cells all bundled together to give 36V but they pack a real punch. :D
