I didnt ask the cost as I didnt want to appear rude, she did mention that they seam to leave it
until they are really bad before they want to do the operation. ??
Totally correct.
I had a neighbour when I lived in Poole who let me rent her garage for a pittance to store the body work, tub etc for the Carisma. She was absolutely lovely but blind as a bat due to cataracts. She didn't have the dosh to go private so was waiting on the NHS to get them done. Fecking criminal.

Tell me what do you put your jack on when you jack a landy up on your gravel?
I use old kitchen worktop, the laminate stuff, or I scrape all the gravel off the surface of the scalpings so it has summat serious to grab hold of.
All this working out doors is such a pain in the ass. :(
Even with my first house with it's single Marley garage I wasn't really aware of how lucky I was that my car actually fit into a garage. Concrete floors, painted with decent garage floor paint seems like such a luxury now. I had three houses with garages and then this one with a double garage, which is fine for ornery cars but I never knew I was going to get into Landies.
So I am either doing this cr@p outdoors or I am in a heated double working on a kit car. Wish I knew someone who actually did have a building I could borrow! Every time I do they do stupid stuff like get divorced and lose the building or fill it with stuff important to their business like stone cutting machinery!
I asked one today how much it costs to rent one round here.
Feck, my teeth fell out..............and they ain't false!!!!:(:(:(:eek::eek::eek:

I use a bit of H/I beam with my smaller jacks or 8mm alloy checker plate which I got off the ship
we scrapped, I had mountains of the stuff, gave away n sold loads of it.
How much is the rental a month down your way.
You aint going to believe this but me and a mate were clearing out a garage today as
one of my neighbours is working away from home & says I can use his garage if I cleared
it out. Cant fit a landy in it though.

I was given a price per sq metre per month which I instantly forgot as I knew I couldn't afford it.
My son in law to be, is talking about £30 k per year to rent out one of the two units he owns as he is trying to plan for his future.:eek::eek:
They are getting married in May, she, my step dottir is 53 and he is 61. He runs a very successful monumental masonry business and one of his letter cutters is one of the best in the country, But his blokes are getting on in age and the problem is trying to find younger blokes to take the game on and run with it.
We had a long chat about it today and it sure as feck ain't easy trying to find the best way of moving ahead with it all. He could just sell the business as it is then rent the two units out but he doesn't want to do that, he'd rather continue with it and train new kids up to follow it all up. But getting kids today to realise what a good game it can be is not easy. To think this guy has had quite a few meetings with both Prince Phillip and the Queen over some of the work he has done for national war monuments like the Arboretum, for which he has done tons of work. Young kids today don't seem able to conceive of much that doesn't involve staring at their phones all day long!!:(:(:(

Lucky barsteward, as usual!!!
I once knew a guy when I lived in Lunnen as a student, who worked out of the country a lot. He offered me his Jensen Interceptor whenever I wanted to use it. I asked him if it was insured for "any driver"? "Nope" says he.
"Sh!t" says I. Never dared take it out.
He was a well shady character. He had been a long term fraudster, American Express. In the end AMEX offered him a job flying around the globe catching the guys doing what he had been doing for years. Case of poacher turned game keeper!

I thought I would get in first instead of the usual last.:)
Have a great day. :)
That's nice of you.
I hope you are OK where you are and that the recent weather has not hurt your place.
I know Wifey has got a nice dins planned and as it is Sunday not too much will be expected of me!!
This has been a very eventful and stressful week. It isn't over yet as Wifey's breast is still swollen so we will still have to sort this out but at least we are both a lot happier knowing it isn't the worst it could be.
Sleep tight and see you tomoz!:):):)
